The Mukden Palace Color Culture Research And Its Application In Design

The Mukden Palace is a masterpiece of ancient architecture in the northeast,as well as a typical minority royal architecture.This group of palaces contains a rich cultural connotation,and color is one of the most important parts."Yellow",as an exclusive color for rulers in feudal society,is representative in the use of the architectural colors of the Mukden Palace.The research of this thesis is divided into two parts:one is the study of the architectural color of the Mukden Palace:through literature research,color measurement and color analysis,conclude the color spectrum,together with today’s design trends,to build an innovative color spectrum of the Mukden Palace.Another is the organization of the use of "yellow" in the Mukden Palace,combined with development and evolution of "yellow" culture from the Chinese perspective,to summarize the cultural connotations of yellow in this era.Finally,the results of the research will be used to guide the innovative design practice.The design innovation part of this thesis focuses on the creative color lists of the Mukden Palace and explores the design of cultural and creative products with the yellow color as an example.The results of this study explore the modern color gamut transformation of architectural colors and their cultural connotations,while practicing the path of how to transform traditional color culture for modern and contemporary design,which can provide a basis for color application research in the development of cultural and creative industries,driven by color culture.
