Research On The Environmental Landscape Renewal Of Chongqing’s Old Community Based On Public Participation

As the focus of urban planning in China has shifted from development to renewal,the renewal of community,as the place of the majority of citizens,has become one of the focuses of urban planning.Traditional community planning focus on the material level,"top-down" government-led community updates often ignores the differentiation of different regional community needs,especially when faced with as the epitome of the development of cities,condensed the generation on the old neighborhood striving spirit,the same transformation way special imprint indelible history left us,played down the permanent residents living in the affection to the community,they face a brand new but strange community,should meet but can’t seem to feel satisfied.Community residents are the real masters of the community,and no one is more familiar with their own community than they are.Therefore,in the face of problems such as lack of sense of community and pattern of renewal arising from the renovation of old communities,it is one of the most effective way to get community residents involved in the renovation process to solve the problems.Based on the analysis and summary of the research background and related research progress of public participation in community planning,this paper defines the concepts of old communities,community environment,landscape renewal and public participation studied in this paper,and summarizes the landscape elements that affect community environmental renewal,Based on the theoretical support of the two parts of the theory of public participation in community renewal and the theory of community environmental landscape renewal,through the analysis of the successful cases of public participation in community renewal in four different cities at home and abroad,Chongqing has been selected as representative of the times A group of old communities conducted investigations on the status quo of community environmental landscape and public participation in community renewal,summarized the deficiencies of community environmental problems and public participation,and proposed principles,methods and strategies for public participation in the environmental landscape renewal of old communities in Chongqing,and Taking the Longfeng Sancun Community in Beibei District as an example,the specific practical research on public participation in the environmental landscape renewal of the community was conducted,and the following research results were obtained:First,according to the background of Chongqing’s industrial city,the community that was built in the 1970 s and 1980 s as a factory dormitory was selected as the research object,and the community environment elements were extracted from the perspective of the landscape,including community layout,architectural forms,and road traffic.,Supporting facilities,public space,greening forms,residents’ behavior,and cultural characteristics.According to these elements,the current situation of Chongqing’s old community’s environmental landscape was classified and summarized its characteristics.It was found that these old communities have compact community layout,architectural form reflecting the times,flexible road traffic,outdated supporting facilities that cannot meet demand,and public space.The levels are rich,the trees in the community are densely covered with greenery,and the behaviors of residents are different and culturally mixed due to the differences in the facilities and spaces in the community.At the same time,a survey was conducted on the status of public participation in these old communities,and it was found that the public participation level of 6 communities in the surveyed communities was in the "comfort" stage,3 communities were in the "notification" stage,and one community was in the "companion" stage.Satisfaction is positively correlated with the degree of community renewal participation,and the stage where residents actually participate is only the management,operation and maintenance stage.Second,based on the theoretical research on public participation in community renewal,combined with the characteristics of the environmental landscape of old communities in Chongqing,the applicable methods for each stage of public participation in the environmental landscape renewal of old communities in Chongqing are obtained:the preliminary research stage-interview method,which has the freedom of development time,The advantages of flexible interview content;the planning and design stagequestionnaire survey method,has the advantages of less time-consuming,less funds,easy to quantify the results,and convenient analysis;management and operation stagecommunity companion activities,which can jointly handle community public affairs,It has the advantages of reducing capital consumption,shortening the distance between neighbors,and facilitating the creation of a sense of community.Third,it is proposed that public participation in the environmental landscape renewal of old communities in Chongqing should follow the principles of "people-oriented,local activation,democratic decision-making and sustainable operation".On the basis of this principle,combined with the different methods of public participation at various stages,corresponding strategies are put forward on the seven elements of community layout,building form,road traffic,supporting facilities,public space,greening form,and cultural characteristics: optimizing the community layout and beautifying the building In order to ensure the safety of community traffic,improve the construction of supporting facilities,reconstruct the function of public space,improve the quality of the green environment,condense the theme of community culture,and make a more detailed breakdown of these seven strategies.Fourth,take Longfeng Three Villages as an example,practice the two stages of public participation in the preliminary investigation to planning and design,construct a community renewal process suitable for Longfeng Three Villages,and draw the results from the two processes of traditional community renewal and public participation in community renewal.Comparing the renewal plan,it is emphasized that community renewal should give priority to solving problems that have a high impact on the daily life of community residents,and put safety and convenience in the front,and aesthetics in the rear.Finally,it puts forward management suggestions for the community renewal management and maintenance stage.
