| In recent years,the development level of China’s artificial intelligence technology industry has been increasing,and the most active areas of artificial intelligence development are concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Yangtze River Delta,and Pearl River Delta regions.Based on the development of 5G communication technology,the economic impact of artificial intelligence on society is even greater.Broad.For the automotive manufacturing industry,the concept of future automotive production and automotive products will be clearer,and the external environment will be profoundly changed.The development of artificial intelligence technology is an important part of boosting the industrial structure of the automobile manufacturing industry and then reshape the ecology of the automobile industry.However,the technological progress driven by artificial intelligence has both the characteristics of "replacing people" and "the productivity effect".Therefore,it is a significant research question to explore how the application of artificial intelligence in the automobile manufacturing industry affects the employment demand of laborers.Following the structure of "theoretical analysis,empirical analysis,conclusions and recommendations",the overall content is expanded as follows: First,this paper combs the existing domestic and foreign research results on the impact mechanism and effect of artificial intelligence technology on labor demand,then summarizes the literature to lay the foundation for raising research questions and finding innovative points;Second,the theoretical analysis framework of this article defines artificial intelligence technology as the influence of artificial intelligence services and the element expansion technology,and the mathematical model is derived to find that the employment effect of artificial intelligence technology is related to the elasticity of capital labor substitution.This conclusion proposed the necessity of specifically focusing on the automobile manufacturing industry.Third,the current situation and development trend of the integrated application of artificial intelligence technology in the automobile manufacturing industry are summarized,and then describe the temporal and spatial characteristics of the actual data of the automobile manufacturing industry’s operating status and the current labor market situation,focusing on empirical analysis about the impact of the automobile manufacturing industry’s economies of scale on labor demand.Fourth,using China’s 2008-2018 provincial panel data,a model of artificial intelligence technology and labor demand was established,and a variety of empirical methods such as fixed effects,sub-sample regression,and instrumental variable methods were used for analysis.Finally,summarize the research conclusions,elaborate the policy implications,and make recommendations.The research results of this paper show: First,the technological process of my country’s automobile manufacturing industry has gone through the stage of "start-up,technology introduction,localization evolution,intelligent development".Today,the application of artificial intelligence technology is mainly reflected in the upgrading and optimization of automobile production equipment,as well as the upgrading of automotive products;Second,within the scope of 2008-2018,the development of artificial intelligence technology has a significant role in promoting the expansion of the labor demand of automobile manufacturing industry;Third,there are regional differences in employment effects by the development of artificial intelligence technology.In terms of regions,the eastern and central regions have a significant positive impact at the 1% significance level,while the western region has a small increase,but the gap between the three is not large,which may be related to the transfer of automobile manufacturing capacity pattern.Fourth,the mechanism channels of artificial intelligence technology’s influence on labor demand are mainly reflected in the expansion of scale to increase production efficiency,thereby offsetting the substitution effect of technological progress;By grouping characteristics of the development level of the artificial intelligence industry and the production capacity base of the automobile manufacturing industry,the heterogeneity analysis have found that areas with a higher level of development of the artificial intelligence industry and a weaker production capacity base of the automobile manufacturing industry will have greater employment growth driven by the application of artificial intelligence technology. |
