| As the main function and basic built-up unit of the city,residence covers a large amount of land and space in the city.The living space is the basic structural unit and material carrier for residents to gather and live in the city,and it is both a kind of geographical space and a social space,a compound of urban living material space and living social space,the former being the visual reflection of the latter in geography.Different forms constitute the difference and diversity of space.The study of living space form is the key to open the urban space form,and the review of the evolution of urban living space form is the window to trace the development and change of the city.Hohhot is an ethnic minority city in the northern border area with a long history of city building.Since its founding,the pattern structure and development center of the city have changed several times,and it has distinctive features that distinguish it from other cities in the region.The urban development history,ethnic diversity,early industrial development and complexity of settlement patterns of Hohhot enrich the study of the dynamic evolution of urban living space in Hohhot.This paper takes the four municipal districts of Hohhot as the object of study,and takes the early twentieth century to the present as the time frame of the study.On the basis of a large number of historical documents and local city histories,a comprehensive and systematic review is conducted on the development of city building,the evolution of spatial forms,and the evolution and transformation of Hohhot’s housing system over the past century in modern times.By synthesizing the general background of policy changes in China’s housing system,urban and rural planning and economic policy transformation with the development profile of Hohhot city,the construction of the urban pattern structure,economic policies and other major events,and by taking a more macroscopic perspective,we study the overall urban residential material space in Hohhot city in the past hundred years,and classify the stages of the evolution of Hohhot city’s residential space form as follows: housing and land The spatial evolution of Hohhot city is divided into three stages: the period of privatization of housing and land(1921-1947),the period of welfare housing(1947-1998),and the period of commercialization of housing and ownership of public housing(1998-2019).Using the morphological type analysis method combined with GIS spatial analysis technology,the qualitative and quantitative research methods are combined to analyze the main factors influencing the formation of residential space form at each development stage,and the morphological distribution of the overall residential space,the layout patterns and structural type characteristics of different types of residential space under each period and stage in the evolution of residential space form in Hohhot.The analysis is conducted.Translated with www.Deep L.com/Translator(free version)Finally,we summarize the distribution,morphology,layout patterns and structural characteristics of the overall residential space in Hohhot from the early 20 th century to the 21 st century.The study finds that the residential land space in Hohhot has been expanding with the expansion of the city scale,the overall distribution has changed from spatial aggregation to spatial diffusion,and the distribution of various types of residential space has gradually developed from having distinct boundaries to mixed coexistence;the evolution of the core and mode of residential space layout reflects that the spatial structure of the city has changed from focusing on survival to focusing on development;the spatial and functional structure of residential space form has changed from being suitable for the scale of residents and intensive development.The spatial structure and functional structure of residential space form are developing in the direction of suitable scale and intensive and orderly living for residents. |
