Research On Modular Design Of Youth Apartment Based On PPVC Construction System

The problem of youth living in cities is becoming increasingly prominent.Low incomes,high rents,and poor conditions are now common social problems,especially in the first tier cities and provincial capitals.So,it has become an urgent issue to improve the living quality of young people and create an economic and comfortable living environment for them.Under the backgrounds about "solving the housing problem for young people" and "the development of the future housing industry",the idea of housing industrialization to build prefabricated houses is a strategy to solve the housing problem for young people.Now,PPVC(Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction)is widely studied and discussed as a new prefabricated construction system,in which prefabricated components are manufactured as entire unit rooms.PPVC is high output,high efficiency,high precision,low carbon and sustainable,and with its high industrialization and standardization,PPVC has good development prospects with China’s vigorous developments of construction industrialization.Therefore,it has great significance to introduce the PPVC construction system into the research of youth apartment design.The modular design is one of the effective design method of PPVC in this article,and it can be used to design the entire prefabricated unit room.Firstly,by summarizing the documents and explanning the concept and analysing the cases,provide the theoretical support for applying modular design method to youth apartment design.Then,classify and divide the function space of youth apartment after research and analysis.Refine the basic function modules and analyze their dimensions scale by modular design idea.Finally,according to the needs of different people,explore the adaptive design strategy of youth apartment space modules and make them more diversity and flexible.So far,a modular system of youth apartment design is formed.The results of this paper are as follows: Firstly,according to the analysis of the research results,divide the youth apartments into different type,and re-combine them into four basic modules,named as the bedroom module,the bathroom module,the living room module and the kitchen module;Secondly,analyze the dimensions scale from the physical form to the space form of four basic modules,establish the basic modular space unit,and propose a standard size module to make the basic modules interior design more accurate.Thirdly,explore the adaptive design strategy of youth apartment space modules systems,and propose design strategies of module units,such as various combinations,efficient utilization,and variable adaptability,which will provide consultations to the modular design of youth apartments.At the same time,it can provide useful reference for China to accelerate the upgrading of industrialization of housing,as well as for the sustainability and space optimization of future youth apartment development.
