Die is the basic equipment of industrial production. The development of the Die industry is an important link that promotes automobile manufacturing industry to move ahead.Facing more and more vigorous market demand, improving project management level, shortening project development cycle, improving resource utilization and saving costs are the only way for Die manufacturing enterprises to survive in the fiercely competitive environment.By analyzing the characteristics of Die development project, this thesis points out that it belongs to order-oriented and small-batch production with complex manufacturing process and many uncertainties, which make project planning difficult.Traditional empirical project management method can no longer comply with the requirements. In this thesis,we analyze the method of project schedule management one by one to discover the project management method, which is suitable for automobile die manufacturing.Combine with its advantages and disadvantages to improve the method through of constraint theory(TOC).We find that the Critical chain technology using TOC theory is an effective tool for making a project plan to reduce project work cycle of Die manufacturing. This thesis establishes a model by studying a typical Die manufacturing project case and use the execution steps of Critical chain technology to adjust and modify the bottleneck process and bottleneck resources continuously. Finally, the optimized project schedule is obtained and compared with the schedule made by traditional project management method. The data show that the application of Critical chain technology can effectively shorten the construction period and mitigate delays caused by uncertainties in the project. Finally, this project management method can improve the problems of long cycle and difficult delivery of Die manufacturing projects.
