A Study On The Influence Of Artist Settlements On Urban Renewal In The Context Of Urban Catalyst

With the end of the post-industrial era,artists in the city spontaneously gather in the gray areas of the city,such as old industrial areas,abandoned workshops and decaying shipyards.After just a few years,they become a creative art park full of visitors,which has a lot of benefits in promoting the renewal and revitalized of the surrounding urban areas.This process of slowly promoting urban renewal from point to group to surface is called urban catalyst renewal.Like a fresh catalyst in the city,it constantly promotes urban development and gradually transforms the creative industrial park into the creative and cultural name card of the city.Different from traditional urban catalyst buildings,traffic buildings(subway stations,railway stations,airports,etc.)add new vitality to traffic stations by organizing urban traffic routes.The commercial building complex attracts people to stop by different functions such as leisure and entertainment,catering and recreation;Catalytic effect caused by the city’s well-known art district or in early for the artist,converged into a more,because of its particular artist with creative and artistic quality and produce the bottomup design changes,and became famous in the art district,sharply rising rents migrating to force artists,artists studios and galleries in accelerated decline in culture and art institutions,such as,The artistic and cultural atmosphere of the art district is also gradually weakening.As urban residents,artists are not only ordinary urban users,but also participants in the creation of cities.Their spatial migration behavior and production and creation state have an indelible influence on public space and urban areas.This seemingly ordinary aggregation effect has caused a evolution of urban areas.Therefore,this paper will carry out an in-depth study on the special urban area of the spontaneously formed artist community,and put forward innovative arguments based on the prosperity and decline of the art community: Taking the artist group as the immaterial catalyst point in the city,this paper affirms the value of the artist and discusses the necessity and rationality of the artist group as the immaterial catalyst point by summarizing the commonness of the spontaneous gathering art area.Then the Netherlands NDSM Art District,Chengdu Blue Top Art District and Beijing 798 Art District are introduced to analyze their backgrounds and development history,discuss how artists use catalyst factors to intervene in urban renewal,discuss their triggers and influences on cities,and study and discuss the production mechanism and spatial form of art settlements.Finally,Caochangdi Art District is taken as an experimental case to refine the space needs from the perspective of protecting artists,and put forward the corresponding planning strategies and schemes.Meanwhile,it is hoped that this will make some contributions to the design and development of art villages and art districts in the future.
