With the development of society,urban passenger flow is increasing with each passing day,and the subway has become the first choice for passengers to travel.Hanging guide signs in the subway station is a very effective tool to guide passengers to travel orderly and safely.However,the existing hanging guide signs often rely on manual experience to be deployed,which cannot meet the passenger’s wayfinding needs well,making many passengers have a poor experience in the process of their wayfinding,which affects passenger safety in emergencies and dangerous situations.Visibility Catchment Area(VCA)has been widely used as the basis to judge whether passengers can perceive and read the information of signs.Based on this,this thesis takes the hanging guide sign of the subway station as the research object,studies and establishes the VCA model suitable for hanging guide sign in the subway station.On this basis,combined with passenger flow lines,this thesis discusses a guide sign layout algorithm that conforms to the principle of human factor engineering,so as to minimize the number of signs,maximize the coverage area of signs,and improve the convenience of passengers.The main work of this thesis is as follows:(1)In order to quantify the spatial range that a single hanging guide sign can be read in the subway station,the VCA model of the hanging guide sign is constructed,which is based on three factors: visual range,visual angle,and observation height.Meanwhile,each parameter in the model is calibrated.(2)In order to minimize the number of hanging signs and maximize the passengers’ walking area covered by signs,the selection and optimization principles of decision points are established based on the VCA model of hanging guide signs and passenger flow lines.On this basis,a layout generation algorithm of the hanging guide sign is designed.(3)In order to verify the validity of the algorithm,taking the hanging guide sign of Caoqiao station as the research object,the pedestrian discrete simulation technology is used to construct models of existing sign status and algorithm generation scheme of Caoqiao station respectively.Meanwhile,two layout schemes are statistically compared and analyzed in terms of walking distance,walking speed,walking time,passenger flow density,inconvenience,discomfort,dissatisfaction,and frustration,which verifies the effectiveness of the sign layout generation algorithm.
