In the Two Sessions of 2021,"carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality" were included in the government work report for the first time,which means the attention to carbon emissions is at an unprecedented level at home and abroad.The transport sector is a major source of carbon emissions,and controlling carbon emissions in this sector is key to achieving these goals.Carbon emissions from diesel consumption by heavy-duty vehicles account for a high proportion of carbon emissions from the transport sector.In addition,the in-use fuel consumption data of heavy vehicles is of significant research value,and relatively little research has been conducted in this area.Therefore,developing a fuel consumption monitoring system to monitor and control the fuel consumption of heavy vehicles is of great significance from the technical research,economic and environmental perspectives,and is a key part of the response to China’s carbon emission reduction policy.In the above context,this paper designs a fuel consumption monitoring system for heavy vehicles,the main research contents of the paper are as follows.(1)Based on the research of the existing fuel consumption measurement technology and the development of timing technology,this paper presents a fuel consumption monitoring system with the ultrasonic time difference method as the core detection principle,using the TDC-GP22 timing chip to achieve ultrasonic time of flight difference measurement.(2)According to the current market demand for this type of monitoring system,the overall design of the system is carried out,the main functions of the system are clearly divided,the selection of the core hardware modules of the system is completed according to the system overall design content,and the working principle,processing flow and core function settings of the main hardware modules are studied in depth.(3)Design the system at the software level,complete the design of the layered structure of the system according to the overall system design content,clarify the division of the business modules and the functional design of the business modules at the application layer of the system,and elaborate on the processing flow of the main business modules and the design of data filtering algorithm.(4)A set of experimental system is designed for the demo of the developed fuel consumption detector,and the verification experiment of the device is completed and the accuracy of the developed device is evaluated.The fuel consumption monitoring system developed in this paper integrates the application of time digital converter(TDC)and Internet of Things(Io T),and applies the ultrasonic time difference method to achieve the measurement of instantaneous fuel consumption of vehicles.Through the APP of this system,users can remotely control the fuel consumption detector and view the real-time data and historical data of vehicle fuel consumption,thus helping managers to achieve remote and efficient supervision of heavy vehicle fuel consumption such as construction machine.After verification experiments,the fuel consumption detector developed in this paper can basically meet the standard of class 2 flow meters,with high detection accuracy,and has a more excellent performance in the case of small flow rate.
