Big Data has now become a hot spot and focus of common concern in academia and industry.Data acquisition,storage,analysis,and processing require companies to improve their big data capability,which are increasingly valued by companies in order to create greater value.Supply chain collaborative innovation can enable companies to improve products and services.Many scholars have realized the positive effect of big data capability on the improvement of corporate performance,however,most of the extant literatures focus on direct effects of big data capability on corporate performance,and fewer literatures have investigated the relationship between big data capability,supply chain collaborative innovation and operation performances,especially in an empirical context.This research aims to explore the relationships based on the theory of resourcebased view(RBV)and theory of dual innovation with empirical study.The research employs questionnaire survey to collect data from Chinese manufacturers in the automotive and electronics sectors as these two sectors are ideal to investigate supply chain management and they have relatively good understanding and high level of informatization with good big data capability.Sample companies are based in both coastal provinces and inland provinces.The questionnaire was designed subject to extensive literature review and the collection of questionnaires started in early May2020 and ended in November 2020.Due to Covid-19,most of the questionnaires were collected by emails or Questionnaire Star software.330 responses were received and 15 responses were discarded due to data missing or reliability judgement,leaving 315 valid responses for further data analysis.In this study,on the premise that KMO and Bartlett spherical detection results are good,SPSS 25.0 was used to conduct exploratory factor analysis on the scale data.The results showed that all the items of the big data capability were aggregated into 3 factors,and the cumulative variance explanation rate reached 76.548%;all the items in the supply chain collaborative innovation were aggregated into 2 factors,and the cumulative variance explanation rate reached 83.757 %;all items of the enterprise operation performance were aggregated into one factor,and the variance explanation rate was77.530%,which is consistent with the dimensions of the scale designed in this study,indicating that the quality of the questionnaire data is good.Then the reliability and validity of the formal scale data were tested,and the test results were satisfactory.Structural equation modelling(SEM)was used for the main data analysis employing Amos 24.All indicators are within the acceptable range,indicating that the model and sample data have good fit.The results of path analysis show that the ability to integrate big data resources has a significant impact on breakthrough innovation and incremental innovation;the ability of big data deep analysis does not reach the significance level for the path of breakthrough innovation and incremental innovation;the influence of big data application ability on breakthrough innovation and incremental innovation is significant respectively;the impact of breakthrough innovation and incremental innovation on enterprise operation performance is significant respectively.Following this,the mediating role of supply chain collaborative innovation was tested by Bootstrap.The test results show that breaking through innovation does not play a mediation role between big data capability and enterprise operation performance,however,incremental innovation does play a mediation role between big data capability and enterprise operation performance.Through empirical research,this paper mainly draws the following conclusions:First,big data capability can positively promote collaborative innovation of supply chain;Second,supply chain collaborative innovation can positively affect enterprise operation performance;Third,supply chain collaborative innovation plays an intermediary role between big data capability and enterprise operation performance.This study not only adds some insights from the theoretical level,but also has a strong practical significance for improving enterprise operation performance.This is because a specific transmission path for big data capability to improve enterprise operation performance has been identified,that is,in order to improve their own operation performance,enterprises should pay attention to the mediating effect of collaborative innovation of supply chain and focus on the innovation of supply chain.
