The discussion of this paper is based on the observation of a garden phenomenon. The garden building activities since the Ming and Qing Dynasties were mostly reduced to idealized "scenery" outside the daily life of the literati, businessmen and official. On the one hand,it is hard to avoid the affectation of management according to personal interest within limited space. On the other hand, the theorization of gardening and the "family" inheritance of gardening activities lead to the convergent development of stylized gardens to a certain extent. This phenomenon shows that garden activities in the Ming and Qing Dynasties have been far from their original source and seem to be divorced from the real "local scene",leaving only formal space to be constantly imitated and copied everywhere.Based on the observation and thinking of "place",it is noted that the garden activities in the West Shu region still show a variety of types, nonecclesiastic and high ancient character, coupled with the local civilization that bred the garden in the West Shu region, developed independently in the relatively closed geographical environment. This situation makes the garden more suitable as a research object,to observe how the garden is actually happening in a place, and what the origin and essence of the garden point to and so on.In combination with the basic research on "order" as the core during the postgraduate period,it is concluded that order has two aspects: appearance and change.Emergence means how the experienced order is materialized and manifested, while rheology implies the occurrence process based on a kind of paradigm.Meanwhile, both manifestation and rheology imply the original reflection of things. As research background, hopes that by such as humanistic geography, cultural anthropology, generalized architecture integrated cross subjects such as discussion, and avoid the directly from "form, space" of the universality of the garden method, hopes that by a"spatial geography to local management",and then in the "landscape" in the operation of space and time,to observe whether there is a paradigm of local landscape,And how to nourish the garden from the place, and what refers to the place from the perspective of the garden ".The garden is what it is because it does not escape the nourishment of the local "soil".Therefore, the main part of the study firstly redefines the geographical scope of the study under the background of relevant "place" theory.Secondly, from the perspective of "spatial geography",the geography of Xi Shu is divided into "mountain" and "original".Therefore, the local management of the Shu people in the West Shu was a process of establishing their homeland and developing their civilization from the mountains to the plains through the "domestication" of water power. The core of the process can be summarized as "controlling the water and looking at the mountains"."Looking at mountains" became a spiritual reference on the spot in local management, and "water control" became the inner gene of a plain irrigation civilization called "Tianfu".Through the process of "controlling the water and looking at the mountains",the geographical "mountain" as a whole is translated into the totality of human social ecology. Therefore, everything on the plain, cities, buildings, villages, and even burial forms in the afterlife world all respond to the water control and mountain observation, and respond to the corresponding spatial and geographical structure. In this overall framework, the paradigm of Shudi garden emerged, which has influenced the construction of local gardens until today.
