| Urban infrastructure is an important material foundation that guarantees the normal operation of various production activities in the city and determines the development of urban construction.The development of urban construction is inseparable from the support of urban infrastructure construction.At the same time,the replacement of urban infrastructure is also closely related to the needs of urban construction.From the promotion of ancient commercial trade to the transportation industry,to the modern urban production and living demand for modern facilities such as water,electricity,and communications,the development of infrastructure has always complemented the development of urban construction and has been continuously updated.On the one hand,urban infrastructure plays an indispensable supporting role in the operation of the city,but on the other hand,urban infrastructure is hidden in the city.In the post-industrial period,with the adjustment of industrial structure and the renewal of urban land use,part of the urban infrastructure in the industrial period was in continuous use,while the other part withdrew from the stage of history and evolved into an industrial heritage of urban infrastructure.As an important category of industrial heritage,urban infrastructure industrial heritage lacks due attention and systematic research.This article takes Wuhan’s urban infrastructure industrial heritages as the object,and uses its continuity relationship from the industrial period to the current state as a clue to study its protection and regeneration.First of all,according to the classification of the six major systems of engineering infrastructure,this article restores the distribution of the three types of transportation,water conservancy and hydropower,and communications in the urban space to reflect the characteristics of each industry under different systems in the industrial period and their relationship with each other,as well as their association of the city.Secondly,after investigating the status quo of Wuhan’s urban infrastructure industrial heritages,according to their existing status and the relationship with the current urban space,these heritages are divided into living heritages and non-living heritages,and their characteristics are summarized respectively.And through the four points of urban infrastructure feasibility study principle,industry category representative principle,heritage type representative principle,current issues and the principle of coverage of various levels,typical cases were screened out.Furthermore,based on the diachronic existence of urban infrastructure industrial heritages,typical cases are divided into three categories.Through analysis of their evolutionary motivation,spatial transformation and their impact on the city,it reveals the diachronic changes in the urbanity of the heritage in various periods.Finally,based on the establishment of the comparable relationship,this paper selects the protection and regeneration cases of the same type of urban infrastructure industrial heritages in Wuhan and at home and abroad to conduct a parallel comparative study,and reveals different types of urban infrastructure industrial heritage protection and regeneration strategies.The commonalities and characteristics of the city’s industrial heritage,so as to find an ideal regeneration path for the practice of protection and reuse of urban infrastructure industrial heritages. |
