With the continuous development of urbanization and the implementation of rural revitalization policies,the education of the rural left-behind children has attracted more and more attention from the whole society.The government and all sectors of society have gradually begun to pay attention to the education,safety,and physical and mental health of the rural left-behind children.With the implementation of rural revitalization,more and more scholars are discussing and researching the human settlement space environment in the rural areas.However,there are few people pay attention to the design of the activity space of the left-behind children in rural areas.A good activity space to a certain extent,could alleviate the negative impact of parent-child separation on the leftbehind children.Moreover,it can also solve their problems in life,study and interpersonal communication,thus help them grow up healthily.Therefore,we first conducted a field visit to the activity space for the rural leftbehind children.Then,a comprehensive analysis of rural left-behind children’s group characteristics,physical and psychological problems,parent-child relationship,social behavior,growth and development and other issues are carried out.Finally,based on the professionalism of environmental design,the space environment design was used to improve the practical problems of the rural left-behind children.This article takes Wangdong Primary School in Jiyukou Town,Qianjiang City,Hubei Province as a case to conduct a field investigation.Aiming at the practical problems of the rural left-behind children,we propose a space environment design that better meets the needs of leftbehind children in rural areas.It is noted that this space environment design combines the current situation of rural revitalization and the professional theories of environmental art design disciplines and practical cases of related research at home and abroad.It is believed that this case will provide reference for the development of the rural left-behind children and the solution of practical problems,and also presents a positive significance in promoting the design of activities space for the rural left-behind children and related welfare space design.
