After more than 20 years of development,China’s shipbuilding industry has become the world’s most important center for shipbuilding.In the development process of Chinese shipbuilding for the past 20 years,the ship construction technology has gone through three stages of "introduction and learning,imitation and following,innovation and leading".In the same time,the oversea ship equipment manufacturers have gone through the process of "domestic agent,local service office,local company",while the domestic supporting manufacturers have started from scratch and is currently following oversea competitors.By adopting low price competition strategy and benefiting from the policy of domestic alternative made by government,domestic ship equipment manufacturers gain more and more market share.Company M is a traditional and well-known equipment supplier in the Marine industry which have strong competitiveness in terms of brand,technology research and development,human resources,industry knowledge accumulation,supply chain channel,global service and so on.However,compare with the domestic equipment manufacturers company M do not have the advantage of labor cost which weaken market competitiveness of company M.In the face of competitors’ low price competition strategy,M company not only needs to ensure product differentiation,but also needs to take effective measures to reduce cost and increase efficiency in the operation process to rebuild the competitive advantage of the product in the Marine industry.A way to achieve cost down and increase efficiency in operation is through the introduction of lean production to product delivery.This paper proposes to implement lean management by product delivery process and establish a lean operation model through effective analysis of delivery process under the guidance of lean theory.The lean model requires company M to create lean strategy and build lean in a top-down way and eventually have competitiveness by identifying the value stream and focusing on customer value creation and implementing lean management methods.Finally,the lean mode was implemented in a specific project and its feasibility and effectiveness were well verified.
