| Automobile core components have always occupied a pivotal position in the automobile industry system.As market demand in the automotive industry expands year by year,the increase in vehicle sales has brought about an increasing demand for supporting parts.Compared with the huge market share of complete vehicles,domestic auto parts companies have performed poorly in new product development and market share.Most of the development of key parts and core technologies is controlled by foreign-funded companies.There is obvious gap with foreign companies and joint ventures for independent development capabilities.Facing the fierce competition of overseas competitors and tough market conditions,constantly optimizing new product development process is necessary for domestic auto parts company to formulate leadership-emphasized,advanced R&D modal to drive successful new product development.Under the background of supply-side reform,we should advocate high-quality development and narrow the gap with developed countries in particular.Company G is a top-ranking auto parts company in China.Faced with rising raw material prices,declining profit margins,and fierce competition with mainstream foreign auto companies,more rigid goals for performance and quality in the development of new products.At the same time,with the rapid growth and upgrading of business,the normative gap with developed countries in the new product development system becomes more obvious.Hence,it is in utmost urgency for G company to perform effective optimization for new product development process.Firstly this paper sorts out the concepts and typical models of new product development processes,new product development and business process reengineering in the automotive industry.Based on this and combine with the concept and methodology of IPD,it deeply explored drawbacks concerning new product development process of G company,the main problems are: First and foremost,deep cooperation barriers between departments in the whole process,lack of teamwork.Secondly,insufficient investment in the planning and design stage,lack of resource management process and product planning and technical planning platforms.Thirdly,uneven decision-making standards induce unbalanced scheme selection.Then,absence of succession for every step caused delayed schedule in engineering stage.Lastly,frequent changes during the industrialization stage make low performance for new product development.At the same time,this paper draws on the successful practice of the benchmarking company Huawei.Aiming at the above problems,applying relevant theoretical models and combining with G Parts Company’s actual situation,four optimization strategies for G Parts Company’s new product development process are proposed.Restructure the new product development organization in the whole process,complete the process reorganization and the construction of cross-functional teams.In the planning and conceptual design stages,reshape the new product development selection process and integrate it into the market demand management process,optimize commonality strategy and establish technical planning platform management processes and parallel key product research process.In the engineering stage,propose the implementation of design review process optimization,improve lead-time management framework and establish interactive R&D review process to achieve orderly development.Finally focus on the succession for each stage and overall benefits.In industrialization stage,emphasize the importance of establishing a cross-departmental management team with the responsibility of project managers leading and exert the guiding role of expert resources was proposed at the stage.The construction of optimization strategies and measures provides organizational and methodological support for G company’s new product development,and has established management idea,human resources management,performance and incentives strategy and other safeguards to provide practical support for implementation.This paper based on the IPD integrated product development theory,combined with the successful application experience of benchmarking enterprises,to conducts research on the new product development process of G Auto Parts Company.the new product is constructed according to the problems of G company’s new product development process at all stages and the development characteristics of auto parts.Optimization strategies and safeguards for the development process.In the current situation,in order to narrow the significant gap with leading foreign auto parts companies,this article provides a certain reference and case study for domestic auto parts companies to strive to build the core competitiveness of enterprises and products. |
