The ancient city is condensing our national historical memory and a common cultural heritage of mankind.The real vitality of the ancient city is the deep integration of regional culture and tourism development,and the multifunctional spatial layout of the ancient city is intertwined with traditional cultural activities.But now,the development and utilization of some ancient cities follow the imitation route,and the model of one side of thousands of cities will not work after all.The soul of the ancient city is culture.It carries the historical context and has high artistic research value.The protection and development must pay attention to its own characteristics,tell its own historical and cultural stories,and use landscape design means to improve the cultural atmosphere and spatial quality of the region and awaken its vitality.The ancient city of Fuzhou in Wafangdian,Dalian has a history of more than 1000 years.It is one of the historical birthplaces of southern Liaoning.However,with the changes of the times,traditional culture and regional characteristics are decreasing.Based on the regional culture and the connection between the ancient city style protection and landscape design,this paper will elaborate from the research background to the research methods.Through the comparative analysis of domestic and foreign cases,this paper summarizes its experience,methods,advantages and disadvantages of environmental protection.In addition,for the specific situation of the ancient city of Fuzhou,through the query of historical documents and relevant books,we can deeply understand the historical development and cultural connotation of the ancient city,put forward the existing relevant problems of the ancient city,and then formulate the design principles and strategies.As for the environmental construction design of the ancient city,we should excavate the regional culture,protect the inheritance of regional context,optimize the spatial layout form of the ancient city landscape,sort out the architectural settlement form of the ancient city,and continue the cultural landscape texture of the ancient city,so as to awaken the vitality of the ancient city and reproduce the historical and cultural landscape of the ancient city of Fuzhou,so as to achieve the comprehensive design process of raising problems,analyzing problems and solving problems.Finally,summarize and discuss the innovation points,think about the limitations and deficiencies,and make a reference for the future research in this direction.
