As one of the seven strategic emerging industries,the high-end equipment manufacturing industry,led by innovative technology,is key to the extension and development of the innovative value chain,promoting the transformation and upgrading of China’s industry and promoting the continuous development of our economy.The innovation activities of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry have spatial spillover effect,and different regions and different links of the innovation value chain can promote each other,thus improving the overall innovation efficiency;and the high-end equipment manufacturing industry has high added value and high output level.Therefore,attaching importance to the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in the western region and giving full play to the synergy of various regions is very important to the future economic and scientific and technological development,and is the key to improve the innovation level of the western region.This paper takes the high-end equipment manufacturing industry in western China as the research object,selects the data from 2012 to 2019,and divides the innovation activity into three links: research and development innovation,achievement transformation and product innovation.Based on Schumpeter innovation theory,innovation system theory and innovation efficiency theory,this paper measures the innovation efficiency of the three stages of innovation value chain of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in western China.Based on this paper,an empirical analysis of spatial spillover effects is carried out,and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions according to the empirical results.First of all,it defines the high-end equipment manufacturing industry,and puts forward the relevant theoretical support.Next,the development status of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry in western China is analyzed from three aspects: industrial scale,economic benefit level and innovation level,and compares it with the relevant development indicators in the eastern region.After that,the current problems facing the development of high-end equipment manufacturing in the western region are analyzed.Then select the measurement method of innovation efficiency,select the DEA model to measure the efficiency,and according to the characteristics of the three links of innovation activities,input-output indicators are selected,so as to calculate the innovation efficiency of each link of the innovation value chain of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in western China,and carry on the projection analysis of input and output.On this basis,by constructing a spatial econometric model,the spatial spillover effects of high-end equipment manufacturing innovation in the western region are analyzed by selecting variables such as human capital level,government input level,economic openness,enterprise scale and economic development level.the results show that there is a significant positive spatial correlation between R&D innovation and achievement transformation in the innovation value chain.And the spatial spillover effect is significant,while the spatial correlation of product innovation is negative,and the spatial spillover effect is not significant.The degree of openness in R&D innovation,government investment and enterprise scale in the achievement transformation link,the level of economic development in the product innovation link can effectively promote innovation efficiency.Finally,according to the empirical results,in order to promote the innovation level of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in the western region,the following countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: cultivate and introduce high-tech talents;The government will increase subsidies for precision;Give play to the synergy of regions and all links of the innovation value chain to form a virtuous circle;Improve the scale efficiency of enterprises;Actively carry out foreign cooperation and exchange,promote its overall innovation and development,and provide theoretical guidance and practical operation direction for the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in western China.
