Design Research On Indoor Walking Aids For The Device-aided Elderly Based On Emotionally Durable Design Theory

The population ageing process has accelerated the development of China’s old-age service industry,and to improve home-care industry is an important means to solve China’s future old-age care problems,as one of the most direct and effective auxiliary means to enhance the old people’s participation in home life,indoor walking aids will become the focus of attention in the field of home-based elderly aids.The decline of the eldely’s physiological function and the lack of psychological spirit make them pay more attention to the psychological comfort and the guarantee of their emotional needs.Especially in the context of the new crown epidemic,the elderly are prone to negative emotions.Therefore,the positive and healthy emotional compensation of indoor walking s is particularly important.However,most of the existing walking aids come from the improvement of assistive devices for the disabled,and lack of attention to the emotional factors such as the psychological cognitive characteristics of the elderly users,resulting in a greater abandonment and refusal of use,the domestic auxiliary resources can not get the reasonable use.Based on the above-mentioned background,this thesis takes Emotionally Durable Design as the theoretical breakthrough point,by paying attention to the emotional factors between users and products,exploring for the elderly users to create lasting emotional interaction to increase their use of indoor walking aids to increase the quality of life at home for the elderly.This thesis is divided into four parts from theoretical analysis to design practice,which are: theoretical overview-product research-user research-design practice.The first part of the theoretical overview,Using the method of literature research,the concept and development of Emotionally Durable Design are expounded;Secondly,the related design methods are analyzed and the research ideas are summarized as follows: exploring behavior informationmining emotional needs-insight into emotional characteristics-guiding design practice-scheme evaluation and verification;Finally,by analyzing the application of Emotionally Durable Design in products,the thesis discusses the research focus and design elements of indoor walking aids to guide product design ideas.The second part of the product research,first,the thesis provides an overview of walking aids,then summarizes the market status and existing problems of walking aids through the contrast analysis and field research.Finally,the development trend and the research direction of this thesis are summarized according to the current status of the product.The third part of user research,firstly,analyze the characteristics of the target user and the form of home life assistance by exploring the user background,and then clarify the design focus of indoor walking aids and provide background framework support for indoor mobility aid products to build a new form of life assistance in the home life of the elderly.Secondly,the factors affecting the emotional experience of indoor walking aids are explored through qualitative user interviews and observations,and use the user experience map to sort out and build a user emotional demand factor system.Then,the relationship between emotional need factors is analyzed through quantitative questionnaires,and cluster analysis and correlation analysis are used to gain insight into the characteristics of users’ emotional needs.Finally,based on the qualitative and quantitative research results,the user’s emotional needs are fitted to the Censydiam demand motivation model to divide the user’s emotional needs characteristics,and then construct the user’s emotional needs model for indoor walking aids.The fourth part of the design practice,firstly,based on the emotional needs model of users,the Emotionally Durable Design strategies of indoor walking aids are proposed;secondly,carries out product design innovation,and outputs product design plans;finally,through the Pr Emo emotion measurement experiment and Jack simulation software,the design plan evaluation is carried out.Based on the Emotionally Durable Design,this thesis systematically mines the diverse emotional needs and characteristics of the elderly,constructs a user emotional needs model for indoor walking aids,carries out relevant design practices and evaluates the effectiveness of the scheme.
