With the development of computer virtual technology,visualization of plant morphological structure plays an important role in agricultural production and scientific research,the application of computer 3D visualization of plant growth process has been attracted more and more attention.But the current research on 3D visualization of trees are mainly concentrated to simulate the morphology of trees while ignoring the effect of natural environment on forest structure changes.Trees’ 3D models are quite common and can not meet the principle of botany.So this study was conducted on the analysis of Chinese fir in typical spatial structure unit to cover the shortage of 3D visualization of forest.This research also improved forest 3D modeling algorithm,established a 3D visualization different model of forest structure and developed the visual simulation system of forest structure based on spatial distribution.The data of this paper and research objects are 15 year old Chinese fir(Cunninghamia Lanceolata)which planted in the Huangfengqiao state-owned forest farm of Youxian county Hunan province.This research improves classification and analysis methods of forest spatial structure unit and analyzed the parameters changes of Chinese fir under different spatial distance distribution,using linear regression method to establish the math models of spatial distance with direction of the tree branch height,distance with direction of forest trees,and forest canopy height under branch direction with the direction of the crown high parameter model.The application of these math models provides parameters support 3D visualization based on the spatial distribution of forest structure.This paper also improves the simulation algorithm of forest structure parameter intelligent control and provides a new rule of tree’s 3D modeling.Three Bezier curves is used to solve the gap in simulation of trees modeling process.Leaf color grading adaptive modeling can realize that foliage color texture information map the branch automatically.The three-dimensional model can also interact with the mainstream 3D rendering software.The results of this research show that 3D modeling algorithm proposed in this paper can be applied to the research of 3D visualization simulation of different species of forestry.At last we use Visual Studio as a development tool,use C#programming language and Direct3D programming technology to complete the simulation system of forest structure visualization based on spatial distance.3D visualization model of Chinese fir morphological structure is established by this system which based on the statistical analysis results of Chinese fir morphology under the influence of variation spatial distance.The results of this study show that the spatial distribution of tree structure visualization simulation system can simulate the 3D visualization model of tree structure under the influence of different spatial distance more realistically and efficiently.
