Research On Ethical Issues In Animal Welfare Practice In China

The concept of animal welfare first started in the United Kingdom,and today it has been widely concerned by countries all over the world.People’s attitude towards animals is an important indicator to measure the degree of social civilization.Animal welfare practices advocate the rational use of animals,give animals due respect and care,and improve the ethical relationship between humans and animals,and between humans and nature.Deepening the ethical cognition of animal welfare practice can not only stimulate the public’s rational judgment on animal welfare issues,but also has important era value for promoting biodiversity conservation,rebuilding species ecological balance and promoting ecological civilization construction.The dissertation is based on four parts.The first part expounds the concept of animal welfare.The core content of animal welfare is to give animals basic physiological welfare,environmental welfare,health welfare,psychological welfare and behavior welfare.The basic requirements of animal welfare practice are to ensure the comfort of the animal’s living environment,to establish slaughtering standards to minimize pain,and to give appropriate ethical care.At the same time,animal welfare has led to many discussions on whether humans should use or protect animals,whether to give animals welfare or rights,and to regard them as resources or subjects.The second part expounds it through the concept of ecological ethics and animal ethics.The ideas of natural axiology,geodetic ethics,and biocentrism have greatly broadened people’s horizons of values and extended ethical concerns to the entire natural world.Western ecological ethics thought pays attention to the integrity of ecology,while pantheism,animal liberation and animal rights emphasize the moral concern for animals.Chinese traditional culture also has the Confucian ethics of equality of all things,the Taoist philosophy of loving life,and the Buddhist philosophy of equality of all living beings.After long-term development,the ethical practice of animal welfare has gradually established the principles of respect,care,cruelty-free and moderate freedom.The third part expounds the ethical issues in our country’s current animal welfare practice.Except for rare animals,experimental animals and recreational animals in my country all face different survival dilemmas.The laws and regulations related to animal protection need to be improved urgently,and the public’s awareness of animal welfare is weak,which leads to the lack of resource mobilization ability of animal protection organizations.At the same time,the lack of supervision by animal protection organizations has prevented the joint efforts of animal welfare work.The fourth part proposes corresponding ethical countermeasures against the plight of animal welfare practice,promotes the government to improve animal welfare legislation adapted to national conditions,strengthens the law enforcement and professional knowledge level of law enforcement officers in the regulatory authorities;promotes the ethical practice of animal protection organizations,and resists animal cruelty to achieve profit To popularize animal welfare education to the society,cultivate the public’s concept of animal welfare practice;strengthen the supervision of animal welfare practice in the media,and advocate the concept of green and healthy life consumption.All parties work together to promote the development of animal welfare practices and realize the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.The implementation of animal welfare is in line with the trend of the times,serving the sustainable development of society and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.Therefore,we should follow this trend,actively carry out animal welfare practices,improve the management level of animal production in my country,and promote the implementation of the theoretical value of this ecological ethics thought into the practice of ecological civilization construction in my country.
