Spring maize variety MC812 was used as material to determine the water demand law and optimal irrigation amount of spring maize under water-saving and high yield conditions in Eastern Hebei province.A single factor randomized block design was adopt in this article to conduct the dynamic changes of soil water,agronomic characters,yield,accumulation and transport of plant dry matter and nutrients and water use efficiency of spring maize were tested under The main results are as follows:Four supplementary irrigation treatments(W0,no water replenishment;For W60,W70 and W80,water refill reached 60% of field water capacity(60%FC),respectively;70%(70% FC);80% 80%(FC)),1.Different supplemental irrigation treatments in the bell-mouth stage had significant influence on soil moisture content of MC812 in silking stage,grout stage and maturity stage.2.The increase of supplemental irrigation in the big trumpet stage had significant effects on the agronomic traits,dry matter accumulation and grain yield of MC812.However,when the supplemental irrigation amount reached 70% of field water capacity in the big trumpet stage,the above indicators did not increase with the increase of supplemental irrigation amount,and even decreased in years with more rainfall.3.Higher accumulation of N,P and K in MC812 plants was obtained under W70 treatment.However,when the supplemental irrigation amount was more than 70% of the field water capacity,the accumulation of N,P and K did not increase or even decreased,and the nutrient harvest index decreased significantly.4.Due to less precipitation in 2020,the amount of supplementary irrigation increased with the increase of the amount of supplementary irrigation in the trumpet stage,but there was no significant difference between WUE and W80 in W70 treatment.In 2021,there was more rainfall in MC812 growing season,and WUE increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of supplementary irrigation amount in trumpet stage.Under W70 treatment,MC812 had the highest WUE,while WUE of W80 treatment decreased significantly.In conclusion,when the planting density was 75 000 plants ยท hm-2 and the supplemental irrigation amount reached 70% of the field water capacity at the trumpet stage,the plant agronomic traits of SPRING maize MC812 were better than those of other treatments,and the grain yield was higher.Therefore,water use efficiency(WUE)can be effectively improved by supplementary irrigation of 70% field capacity in eastern Hebei province.
