The Clinical Study Of Shengxue Pill Combined With EPO In Treatment Of Cancer Related Anemia (Spleen-kidney Deficiency Syndrome)

Abstract/Summary:
Objective:The present research aims at observing the efficacy of Shengxue Pill combined with EPO in the treatment of tumor-related anemia with deficiency of spleen and kidney and evaluating its safety,so as to provide reference for the clinical treatment of Cancer-Related Anemia.Methods:In this study,90 patients with CRA were all outpatients in the Department of Internal Medicine of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine in Gansu Cancer Hospital,meeting the diagnostic criteria of Western medicine and syndrome differentiation criteria of Chinese medicine.They were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,45cases in each group.The treatment group was given Shengxue pill combined with EPO subcutaneous injection,and the control group was given EPO subcutaneous injection oral.The observation includes changes of peripheral blood haemoglobin level,erythrocyte count,hematocrit,cellular immune indexes(CD3~+,CD4~+,CD8~+,CD4~+/CD8~+),inflammatory factor interleukin-6,TCM syndromes,physical status and safety indexes before and after treatment in2 groups after 4 weeks.Results:1.Peripheral blood hemoglobin level:After treatment hemoglobin level in both groups was raised(P<0.05),and the efficacy of the treatment group is better than the control group(P<0.05).2.RBC count:the treatment also indicates an increase of the RBC count of patients in both groups(P<0.05).Both interventions could improve the RBC count of patients(P<0.05),and the efficacy of the treatment group is better than the control group(P<0.05).3.Hematocrit:After treatment,the hematocrit in both groups was increased(P<0.05),and the comparison between the two groups suggested that the treatment group was better in improving HCT in patients(P<0.05).4.T lymphocytes:After treatment,CD3~+,CD4~+,CD4~+/CD8~+values in the treatment group were increased(P<0.05),while the increase of CD8~+was not significant.There were statistically significant differences in immune indexes between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).The results suggested that the treatment group had obvious advantages in improving the immune function of patients.5.Interleukin-6:an indicator of inflammatory factors,was decreased in both groups after treatment(P<0.05).The comparison between the two groups after treatment showed that the treatment methods could reduce the inflammatory index of IL-6 in patients with CRA better(P<0.05).6.Efficacy of anemia:The total effective rate of the control group was 75.56%,and that of the treatment group was 91.11%.The effective rate of anemia treatment was higher than that of control group.7.Therapeutic effect of TCM syndromes:The total effective rate was 66.67%,and that of the treatment group was 93.33%.The curative effect of TCM syndromes in the treatment group was better than that in the control group.8.Physical condition:After treatment,KPS scores of the two groups were increased(P<0.05),and the comparison between the two groups indicated that treatment group intervention measures could better improve the physical condition of patients with CRA(P<0.05).9.Incidence of adverse events:During the whole treatment process,1 patient with nausea and vomiting occurred in both the control group and the treatment group,and 1 patient with elevated blood pressure occurred in the treatment group.After symptomatic treatment,the symptoms disappeared.No serious adverse events occurred.Conclusions:Compared with EPO alone in the treatment of CRA,Shengxue Pill combined with EPO can effectively improve patients’anemia and immune function,reduce inflammatory index IL-6.It can also improve TCM syndrome,restore physical strength,improve the treatment effect in a safe and effective way which is worthy of promotion.
