Clinical Study Of Warming And Reinforcing Spleen And Kidney,Promoting Blood Circulation And Resolving Phlegm In The Treatment Of Vascular Dementia

Objective:By applying the methods of warming and tonifying spleen and kidney,activating blood circulation and resolving phlegm to treat vascular dementia patients,the clinical curative effect was observed,and the mechanism of vascular dementia caused by spleen and kidney yang failure and stasis phlegm blockage was discussed.The theoretical basis and practical experience were provided for the clinical application of this method to treat vascular dementia,so as to broaden the clinical diagnosis and treatment of vascular dementia by traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:Sixty eligible cases were randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 30 cases in each group.The experimental group was given Wenyang Huoxue Huatan Decoction orally and decocted daily.The control group was given donepezil hydrochloride tablets orally,5 mg(1 tablet)once a day.The two groups were treated for 4 months.After 4 months,the clinical efficacy and improvement of symptoms were judged.The changes of scores of TCM Syndrome Evaluation observation table,Simple Intelligent Mental State Assessment Scale and Activity of Daily Life Scale were observed.Results:After 4 months of treatment,the total effective rate of TCM syndrome score was 83.33% in the experimental group and 56.67% in the control group.Statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference inthe curative effect of TCM syndrome between the two groups after treatment(P=0.035 < 0.05),and the experimental group was better than the control group.The total effective rate of MMSE score was 80.00% in the experimental group and 56.67% in the control group.The results showed that the experimental group was superior to the control group(P=0.031 < 0.05);the total effective rate of ADL score was 83.33% in the experimental group and 60.00% in the control group.Statistical analysis showed that the experimental group was superior to the control group(P=0.044 < 0.05).At the same time,the experimental group can significantly improve the clinical symptoms,including the TCM Syndrome Assessment Observation Scale,Simple Intelligent Mental State Assessment Scale,Activity of Daily Life Scale scores have been significantly improved.Conclusion:Wenyang Huoxue Huatan Decoction with the functions of warming and tonifying spleen and kidney,activating blood circulation and resolving phlegm can obviously improve the clinical symptoms of patients,improve their daily living ability and quality of life.The method of warming and tonifying spleen and kidney and activating blood circulation and resolving phlegm has good clinical efficacy in treating vascular dementia.
