Clinical Studies Of Kidney Nourishin-Qi Absorbing Therapy In Treating With Syndrome Of Lung And Kidney Yin Deficiency Pattern Of Hormone-Dependent Asthma

Objective: To observe the clinical effiect of Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing therapy in treating with syndrome of lung and kidney yin pattern of hormone-dependent asthma,and discussing the effect and mechanism,and studying the pathogenesis of steroid asthma deeply.To provide scientific basis to clinical application of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)of preventing hormone-dependent asthma.Methods: Selecting 60 patients who were admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Hebei Province from October2017 to October 2019 and diagnosed as steroid asthma whose syndrome is lung and kidney yin deficiency.The control group received conventional western medicine treatment: patients was took a certain amount of hormones orally and given Budesonide Pormoterol Powder Inhaler(Symbiotic 160 μg /4.5 μg)for 1 inhalation and 2 inhalation treatments per day.After the asthma is controlled,the hormones were gradually withdrawn as required.The treatment group was treated with kidney nourishing-qi absorbing decoction on the basis of the control group.All of the above with 4 weeks as a course of treatment,and there are 3 courses of treatment.After treatment,the changes in TCM syndrome scores and single symptom efficacy,hormone maintenance,frequency of asthma attacks,vantorin usage,lung function(FEV1%,PEF and PEFR),the function of HPA axis(Cor and ACTH),and ACT scores were compared and performed statistical analysis to evaluate clinical efficacy.Results:1.There was no significant difference in baseline data for two groups of patients before treatment(P>0.05)and was comparable.2.Total effective rate of hormone withdrawal: After treatment,the total effective rate was 96.43%,which was significantly better than the control group of 75.86%(P<0.01).There was significant difference in oral hormone maintenance for two groups of patients after treatment(P<0.01).3.Scoring results of TCM syndrome: After treatment,the scores of the two groups were lower than before,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).Comparing with the control group,the symptoms of cough,sputum,Xiong Ge full stuffy were more pronounced in the treatment group(P<0.05).4.Scoring results of ACT: The ACT scores of the two groups were increased after the treatment,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P <0.05).5.The result of lung function:The forced expiratory volume in one second take up of the expected value(FEV1%),peak expiratory flow(PEF)and peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR)of the two groups were significantly pronounced after the treatment,and the PEF and PEFR of the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.01).6.The result of hormone levels: After treatment,the plasma cortisol(Cor)levels of the two groups were significantly higher than before and the plasma adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH)levels of the two groups were significantly lower than before.The treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).7.The frequency of acute asthma attacks and frequency of vantolin use decreased significantly after the treatment.The treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.01).8.Follow-up: After 3 months of treatment,the relapse rate in the treatment group was 7.14%,which was significantly better than the control group of 34.48%(P <0.05).9.None of the 30 patients had adverse reactions during the course of treatment,and the safety observation indicators were normal and safe.Conclusions: The method of Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing is effective in treating with syndrome of lung and kidney yin pattern of steroid asthma.The improvement of symptoms such as cough,sputum,Xiong Ge full stuffy,hormone maintenance,the frequency of acute asthma attacks and frequency of vantolin use,recurrence rate is better than of oral hormone alone;The method of Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing is superior than oral hormone alone in improving lung ventilation function(PEF and PEFR)and regulating hormone levels in patients with steroid asthma of lung and kidney yin pattern type;Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing decoction can effectively reduce the oral hormone dosage and side effects of steroid asthma patients.Its therapeutic mechanism is probably because the method of Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing can reduce the infiltration of airway inflammatory cells in steroid asthma patients,improve the remodeling of asthma airways,restore the suppressed hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis function,and not only reduce the patients’ dependence on hormones but also without any toxic and side effects.The price of Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing decoction is relatively inexpensive and easily for the parents to accept.As a result,the Kidney nourishing-Qi absorbing decoction can be an effective TCM method for hormone withdrawal in hormone-dependent asthma patients.
