Objective:1.To explore the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution in patients with colorectal polyps.2.To explore the correlation between different constitution types and the nature of polyps in patients,to provide reference for clinical identification of high-risk physical types and prediction of disease risk.3.To explore the correlation between different constitution types of patients with colorectal polyps and age, sex,BMI,blood lipids levels and bad living habits,so as to provide basis for early clinical intervention, improving susceptibility constitution and reducing disease incidence. Methods:Select 380 patients with colorectal polyps who underwent colonoscopy at Fuzhou TCM Hospital from Jan.2020 to Feb.2021 and met the inclusion criteria.Collect constitution types, basic data, pathological types of polyps, biochemical indicators and other information, using SPSS 23.0 statistical software, using chi-square test and logistic regression analysis,to explore the correlation.Results:1.The distribution of physical types in patients with colorectal polyps was as follows:(1)the main biased constitution(70.26%)>complex constitution(28.16%)>peaceful quality(1.32%)> special quality(0.26%);(2)in the main biased constitutions,phlegm-damp(27.34%)>damp-heat(25.84%)>yang deficiency(19.85%)>qi deficiency(12.36%)>yin deficiency(5.99%)>qi stagnation(3.75%)>blood stasis(2.62%)>peaceful quality(1.50%)>special quality(0.75%).2.In this study, the characteristics of the constitution of patients with colorectal polyps are as follows:(1)male patients are more common with damp-heat,female patients are more common with yang deficiency;(2)young patients are more common with phlegm-damp,middle-aged patients are more common with damp-heat,elderly patients are more common with qi deficiency;(3)underweight patients are more common with yang deficiency and qi deficiency, overweight patients are more common with phlegm-damp and damp-heat;(4)patients with drinking or smoking history are more common with damp-heat,patients without drinking or smoking history are more common with yang deficiency;(5)patients with diet preference are more common with damp-heat;(6)patients without exercise habit are more common with phlegm-damp,damp-heat and yang deficiency.3.In this study, the relationship between the constitution of patients with colorectal polyps and polyps is as follows:(1)the most common sites of polyps are transverse colon and sigmoid colon;(2)patients with single polyps are more common with yang deficiency, patients with multiple polyps are more common with phlegm-damp and damp-heat;(3)patients with adenomatous polyps are more common with phlegm-damp and damp-heat.4.In this study, the relationship between constitution and blood lipid levels of colorectal polyps patients is as follows:(1)patients with TG<1.7mmol/L are more common with yang deficiency and qi deficiency, patients with TG ≥ 1.7mmol/L are more common with phlegm-damp and damp-heat;(2)patients with TC<5.2mmol/L are more common with yang deficiency, patients with TC ≥ 5.2mmol/L are more common with yang deficiency and qi deficiency;(3)patients with LDL-C<3.4mmol/L are more common with yang deficiency and qi deficiency, patients with LDL-C ≥3.4mmol/L are more common with phlegm-damp and damp-heat.5.In this study, the relationship between phlegm-damp and metabolism related risk factors is as follows:sex,TC,TG and age are risk factors of phlegm-damp(P < 0.05).The most influential factor is age(Wald=29.513),followed by TC and TG(Wald=7.797,7.667),and finally sex(Wald=6.930).The risk of phlegm-damp in female patients is 1.8 times higher than that in male patients(OR=1.840);the risk of phlegm-damp in patients with TG≥1.7mmol/L is higher than that in patients with TG<1.7mmol/L(OR=1.740);the risk of phlegm-damp in middle-aged patients and patients with TC≥5.2mmol/L is higher(OR=0.053,OR=0.185).6.In this study, the relationship between damp-heat and metabolism related risk factors is as follows:sex,LDL-C,diet preference, and drinking or smoking history(P < 0.05).The most influential factor is drinking or smoking history and sex(Wald=13.923,13.923),followed by diet preference(Wald=9.799),and finally LDL-C(Wald=7.939).The risk of damp-heat in patients with drinking or smoking history, male patients, patients with LDL-C ≥ 3.4mmol/L and patients with diet preference is higher(OR=0.017,0.016,0.020,0.319).7.In this study, the relationship between yang deficiency and metabolism related risk factors is as follows:age(P < 0.05,Wald=2.038).The risk of middle-aged patients is1.5 times higher than young patients(OR=1.497).Results:1.The TCM Constitution of patients with colorectal polyps is main biased constitution.Phlegm-damp,damp-heat and yang deficiency are the majority.Qi deficiency,Yin deficiency are less,qi stagnation, blood stasis, peaceful quality and special quality are the least.2.Affected by age, sex, diet preference, drinking or smoking history and blood lipid level, the susceptible constitution of colorectal polyps is phlegm-damp and damp-heat,.Clinical conditioning can starte with above major risk factors to reduce the incidence and recurrence rate of colorectal polyps and prevent the occurrence of colon cancer.
