ObjectiveExprore etiological factor correlations between pathological types and Constitution in TCM with logistic regression analysis as well as intervention strategies in patients with colorectal polyps (CRP).We systematically reviewed the prevention of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) in the treatment of CRP for the past50years. With the Logistic regression analysis, we explored the relative factors of CRP and relationship between different pathological types of CRP and classification of Constitution in TCM. We offered the intervention of CRP based on classi f ication of Constitution in TCM.Methods(1) With the standard literature retrieval, the inclusive and exclusive criteria were made. With the database such as PubMed, CNKI and CBM, the relative medical literature in English and Chinese from1960to2012were selected. After selection, We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled tria to assess whether or not NSAIDs might prevent colorectal polyps.(2) The study subjects were180cases of colorectal polyps and133controls with no polyps of inpatient who underwent total colonoscopy during the period January1,2007to February29,2012at the first hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine spleen and stomach diseases. The clinical epidemiological data of the all subjects and the correlative information of the laboratory examination were collocted. The univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performe to estimate between the correlative factors and colorectal polyps.(3) With the quest ionnaire of Const itut ion in TCM which col led from93cases of colorectal polyps who underwent total colonoscopy during the period January1,2011to February29,2012at the first hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine,we evaluated the association between different types of colorectal polyps and classification of Constitution in TCM by multivariate logistic regression analysis.(4) Based on the correlative factors of different classification of Constitution in TCM of colorectal polyps, the therapeutics are pointed out.Results(1) The results of the Meta analysis of the binary variables reveal that OR=0.68,95%CI(0.46,1.00) and the test for overall effect shows that Z=1.95, P=0.05, NSAIDs might prevent colorectal adenomas in comparing with placebo group.(2) With the univariate analysis, there were significant differences at age、gender smoking、the level of IIDL-C and the level of LDL-C between180cases of colorectal polyps and133cases of controls with no polyps, and mul tivariate logi stic regression analysis reveal that only age(OR=1.026;95%CI1.003-1.05) and smoking (OR=3.514;95%CI1.647-7.496) were risk factors of colorectal polyps; Among the93cases of colorectal polyps,84cases were adenomatous polyps and74cases were no-adenomatous polyps. With the univariate analysis, there were no significant differences beteween adenomatous polyps group and no-adenomatous polyps group, and multivariate logistic regression analysis reveal that only two polyps(0R=6.74;95%Cl1.708-26.603) and age(OR=1.043;95%CI1.008-1.080) were risk factors of adenomatous polyps.(3) Among the93cases of colorectal polyps,46cases were adenomatous polyps and47cases were no-adenomatous polyps, multivariate logistic regression analysis reveal that age (OR=1.073;95%Cl1.030-1.118), phlegm-wetness constitution(OR=4.992;95%Cl1.315-18.950), wetness-heat constitution(OR=4.796;95%CI1.437-16.009) were risk factors of adenomatous polyps.(4) Based on the correlative factors of different classification of Constitution in TCM of colorectal polyps, the intervention strategies were pointed out.Conclusion(1) NSAIDs was effective for the prevention of colorectal adenomas.(2) Our resul ts suggested that odor、 male、 smoking、low IIDL-C levels and high LDL C levels may positively related lo colorectal polyps, age and smoking may increase the risk of colorectal polyps; two polyps and age may increase the risk of colorectal adenomas.(3) Age、phlegm-wetness constitution and wetness-heat constitution may increase the risk of adenomatous polyps (4) Based on the correlative factors of different classification of Constitution in TCM of colorectal polyps, the intervention strategies were pointed out.
