ObjectiveTo detect the expression levels of inhibin beta A(INHBA)and cysteine protease-3(Caspase-3)in gastric cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues,to explore the correlation between their expressions and clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer.The relationship between INHBA and Caspase-3 in the development of gastric cancer was further analyzed.MethodsCollecting 60 cases of gastric cancer tissue wax blocks that underwent radical gastric surgery at the 940 Hospital of the Joint Logistics Service Force from May 2019 to September2020,and 30 cases of wax blocks of paracancerous tissues were randomly selected as controls.Immunohistochemistry(IHC)was used to detect the expression levels of INHBA and Caspase-3.SPSS23.0 statistical software was used to analyze the relationship between INHBA,Caspase-3 protein and clinicopathological characteristics,and the correlation between the two proteins was further analyzed.Results1.INHBA in gastric cancer and tissues adjacent to carcinoma in the positive rate were85.0%(51/60)and 66.7%(20/30),the positive rate of INHBA in gastric cancer tissues was higher than that in adjacent tissues(χ~2=4.036,P<0.05).The expression of INHBA in gastric cancer tissues was related to the degree of tissue differentiation of the patients(χ~2=6.881,P=0.038),TNM(tumor node metastasis classification,TNM)staging(χ~2=4.659,P=0.031),depth of invasion(χ~2=5.116,P=0.032),increase of preoperative CA199(χ~2=8.585,P=0.004),cachexia(χ~2=4.518,P=0.034),but not related to gender,age,distant metastasis,etc.2.The positive rate of Caspase-3 in gastric cancer and adjacent tissues were 60.0%(36/60)and 90.0%(27/30),the positive rate of Caspase-3 in gastric cancer was lower than that in adjacent tissues(χ~2=8.571,P=0.003).The expression of Caspase-3 in gastric cancer was correlated with the degree of tissue differentiation of the patients(χ~2=9.275,P=0.010)and lymph node metastasis(χ~2=5.157,P=0.023),but was not correlated with gender,age,TNM staging,etc.3.The results of Spearman correlation analysis showed that the expression of INHBA and Caspase-3 in gastric cancer was correlated,and there was a significant negative correlation(r=-0.261,P=0.044).Conclusions1.INHBA is highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues,and its expression level is related to the degree of differentiation,TNM stage,depth of invasion,preoperative CA199 increase,and cachexia in gastric cancer patients,suggesting that INHBA may be involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.2.Caspase-3 is lowly expressed in gastric cancer tissues,and its expression level is related to the degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer patients,suggesting that Caspase-3 may be involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.
