| United States is the center of higher education all over the world, Dr. Degree, especially the degree of Ph. D, namely the academic Dr. degree, is the summit of academic training type in American’s higher education. The U.S. higher education system not only consists of numerous colleges and universities, which are of large scale, its cultivation quality is also distinguished. Vanderbilt University is a comprehensive university which is known for its programme concerning to education. So, this dissertation, based on the Ph. D training mode of Education Management and leadership programme in Vanderbilt, will also taking account of the characteristics of other first-class education institutes’training mode of the same programme in the United States, to conceptualize a idealistic Ph. D training mode which is applicable to ChinaThe introduction part of this dissertation focuses on the concept defined and introduced by existing researches at home and abroad, which clarifies the topic of dissertation and understanding of the existing achievements, trying to explore the related issues that we need to study. The second chapter explores the Ph. D degree’s characteristic from their training targets and mission statement on the basis of the four selected top-class colleges of education. The old saying is that we can get a wider view if stand high, so we analyze the elements of their mission statement to further understand the college cultivation strategy of these first-class colleges. Chapter three is to explore the supporting scholarship and capital chain of four first-class colleges after probing into their recruiting and enrollment of students as well as their scholarship issuance. Following is the core part of this article, in which we take the view of their curriculum, and get the example of the four first class colleges’ Ph. D programme of Management and Leadership to explore the general process of their doctoral training.Quality assurance is an important part of the Ph. D training; therefore, the fifth chapter is about quality assurance mechanisms of those colleges. Then, we further examine the successful cultivation experience of the American academic Dr. in the final chapter to contrast and reveal the Ph. D incubating problems in our China’s mainland, and to take reference of their successful experience. |
