Translation Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of Japanese Village Of The Middle Ages

"The Japanese village of the Middle Ages" is a text of the social science that introduces many elements of the Japanese village in Middle Ages comprehensively and systematically,such as the composition of villages,the union of villages.I participated in the translation work of the fifth chapter and conclusion part of this book.This report is aim to summarize and reflect on the practice of translation,and I hope that this translation report can provide a reference for future translation practice of social science texts.This report focuses on the translation practice of the Japanese historian Mitsuo Shimizu’swork,"The Village of the Middle Ages in Japan," C hapter 5,"The Life in the Village of the Middle Ages," and the postscript part.On the basis of general knowledge of the knowledge point and the original contents involved in the catalog,the author will use the interpretation theory related to the translation theory,especially Gadamer’s philosophy of the three principles of interpretation of the difficulties and solutions in the process of one by one Examples of analysis.This report consists mainly of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the reason and the main content of the translation theory.In this chapter,the author also points out the theoretical basis of the analysis of the source language from the angle of words and grammar,that is,the explanation of the other representative of George Snyder’s "Translator in the translation process must pay attention to the four points’.From the point of view of Snyder,we can see that in order to understand the language correctly and completely,the interpreter should start with the vocabulary and grammar of the original text to understand the true meaning that the author wants to express.As a result,the author thinks that the center of the translation practice can start with two aspects,which are vocabulary and grammar,to carry out further in-depth analysis.The second chapter focuses on the two preparatory work done before the translation practice.The first preparatory work is a preliminary confirmation of the catalog.The second preparatory work is the analysis of the content of the fifth chapter of the "The Village of the Middle Ages in Japan","The Life in the Village of the Middle Ages," and the postscript part.In the third chapter,the author mainly focuses on the difficulties and solutions of the fifth chapter of the "The Village of the Middle Ages in Japan","The Life in the Village of the Middle Ages," and the postscript part,making examples to analyze from the angle of words and grammar,which can show the translation practice of the sentence translation process,and the process and results of this translation practice.The final Chapter 4 is a summary of the translation practice report.The authorgets a lot of experience and lessons from this translation work,that are the qualities a translation should haveand how to complete the translation activities better.The author also has a more profound experience and understanding.Therefore,this chapter mainly summarizes the shortcomings and lessons in the translation process and the qualities a translator should have.Through this translation practice,the author has the following perceptions.There is a cultural difference between the target language and the source language more or less.Thus,it is particularly important for the translator to master the history and culture of the source language before the translation work.At the same time,due to the existence of cultural differences,translation work naturally have a certain degree of explanatory.Therefore,the author realizes the necessity of referring to the theory of hermeneutics in translation practice,especially the importance of Gadamer’s three principles of philosophical hermeneutics as the standard of translation.In addition,In addition,Due to the author doesn’t learn the theory of translation systematically and the knowledge of translation theory is not enough and so on.The author hopes that the study can be improved in the future.
