Ortega y Gasset is one of the most influential thinkers in the history of Western thought in the 20th century. His academic contribution is not limited to his introduction of the mainstream ideas of various schools of European society to Spain, which was in desperate need of change, and promoted the spread of philosophical thoughts in continental Europe. He also learned from the decline of rationalism and explored a life-historical rational path to save the human existence. At the same time,as a social and cultural critic who pays attention to the rise of the masses earlier,he also concerned the tense opposition between popular culture and modern art creation with a critical eye of a few intellectuals, and found out that the Art Nouveau movement made lots of trials in the process of trying to resist the popular culture and carry out the modern art revolution. The essence of this act is to remove the human factors in the works of art. Therefore,it is referred to "dehumanization."The concept of "dehumanization",as the most prestigious literary and artistic theory in the Ortega ideology, plays a vital role in the construction of Ortega’s macro-ideology.Therefore,in order to more comprehensively interpret the theory of "dehumanization",this paper will combine the background of new art,Ortega’s philosophical ideology and scholars from different western schools to reinterpret the theory of "dehumanization",with time and the development of modern art as a clue,to completely and objectively grasp the development and influence of the theory of "dehumanization".Specifically, this paper takes the concept of "dehumanization" as the research object, and focuses on the three manifestations of "dehumanization" in the new art(anti-emotion,anti-reality and anti-tradition).The philosophical perspective and the modern perspective respectively expand the |dehumanization" theory in multiple dimensions. On the one hand, through the pursuit of Ortega’s philosophy of life rationality and the"dehumanization" theory in the expression of the theme to deepen the understanding of the "dehumanization" creative intention;on the other hand, with the help of some western scholars interpretation of the anti-realistic tendency of "dehumanization" and re-examination of several controversial core points in the "dehumanization" theory placed in the context of modernity, the researcher can distinguish the feasibility of creation method of "dehumanization".Finally, from the perspective of the enlightenment of New Art on the development of future art,the significance of the reference of new art will be analyzed.
