In modern history,Tianjin was the economic center of North China,and the nine co untries’concessions were standing side by side,which made its society gradually show th e characteristics of Westernization,pluralism and tolerance.At the end of the Qing Dyna sty and the beginning of the Republic of China,along with the West Wind,ballroom dan ce was introduced into China,and first landed in Shanghai,Tianjin and other coastal citie s.In this paper,the specific physical space of Tianjin Dance Hall is studied.The dance h all is a new industry for the operator,a professional place for the dancers,a fashionable n ew entertainment place for the consumers,and in the eyes of the government,the dance h all is an important source of revenue and a matter of corruption.The different attitudes of different parties to the dance hall make the dance hall as a multi-dimensional entertainm ent space is gradually structured.And the layout and operation of this new type of entertai nment space,the life features of the group of dancers,the important staff members on wh om it depends for its livelihood,the process of its acceptance by the general public,the di fferent emphasis of successive governments on its management,etc.Are Less of a conce rn to the academic community.Through the exploration of these aspects,this paper tries t o depict the daily entertainment life in the new entertainment places and explore the proc ess of the change of Tianjin’s urban culture and citizen’s life,social fashion and public id ea.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the background of the rise of Tianjin Dance Hall and its development.The second chapter mainly introduces the layout and operation of the Dance Hall.Under the magnificent decoration of the dance hall,the Good Service of the service providers and the active operation of the business operators,the dance hall economy is developing vigorously And changing the traditional way of entertainment in Tianjin.The third chapter discusses the characteristics of the dance hall by discussing the nature of the most important professional groups of dancers.Dancing girls are a new type of female occupation which originated in modern times,but they are deeply bound by the traditional male-dominated discourse system and become the "other people" who dances on the sword and falls at any time The contradictory characteristics of modern and traditional dance girls are just the reflection of the modern public entertainment space.The Fourth Chapter of this article mainly discusses the public to the ballroom idea change process.The attitude of the public to the dance hall has changed from rejection to acceptance,which reflects the process of the change of the urban culture and the life of the citizens in the process of urbanization.The fifth chapter focuses on the management of ballroom by successive governments,and reproduces the process of the interaction between the State and society.
