The Reinterpretation Of The Second Person Narrative

The narrator is an important issue in narratology and an unavoidable choice for writers in their creation.Generally speaking,the first person and the third person are the undisputed existence in narrative discourse and the first choice of writers.The second person is in a more marginal position,for a long time between being questioned and being justified.Also because of this reason,the second person inversion is more prominent.On the one hand,the research related to the second person is gradually increasing,On the other hand,the teams of using the second person are also expanding.It can be said that the second person is thriving in the gap.Therefore,under the development trend of the second person,based on previous studies,the second person narrative problem is explained again.The first part mainly deals with "what is the second person narrative".Firstly,the definition process of the second person narrative is sorted out,and then a new definition is put forward.Then answer "who are you?"The second part follows the conclusion that "you are always the narratee" to explain the status between the narrator and the narratee.According to the formula of Tzvetan Todorov and Gerard Genette,the status between the narrator and the narratee can be expressed in three ways: the status of the narrator(29)the status of the narratee,the status of the narrator ? the status of the narratee and the status of the narrator ? the status of the narratee.The second person narrative reflects the third kind of situation,taking the second-person standpoint of Stephen Darwall as the theoretical basis,and making an analogy with the position of the narratee in suspense and reasoning movies to understand the status relationship.In the third part,according to the horizontal dimension of "you as the identity of the narratee" and the vertical dimension of " texts’ content form ",the second person narrative text is classified.The fourth part mainly explains "the effect and significance of the second person narrative",and from the perspective of the dialogical of the second person narrative,it puts forward that the second person narrative has the characteristics of "auditory priority","immediacy","introspection" and "calling us".
