| In this paper,modern Chinese coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type are taken as the research object.Taking modern Chinese dictionary(7th edition)as the corpus source,this paper establishes a corpus of modern Chinese coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type,and makes a detailed description of coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type in the corpus.The semantic structure and the conceptual blending model of endocentric(nominal)modern Chinese coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type are discussed,as well as the semantic evolution(generation)and cognitive motivation of exocentric(verbal,adjective or adverbial)modern Chinese coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type,from multiple perspectives.It is found that the generation of endocentric coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type goes through the process of "selection-combination-elimination".The cognitive motivation of exocentric coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type is mainly metonymy mechanism.Verbal coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type formation is done within the lexical.Two nominal morphemes with the same meaning are combined to generate the nominal composition,which make the dominant Qualia Structure(typically the Telic Role)stand out while use it.By changing its syntactic position to realize its part of speech,the word meaning is fixed to become a new veral coordinate compound of Noun-Noun type.The nominal morpheme N1 and N2 of adjective coordinate compound of Noun-Noun type have the same or similar meaning,semantic type and qualia structure.The adjective coordinate compound of Noun-Noun type highlight its Form Role,which descriptive characteristics make NN type of compound words generate to adjective.There are two stages in the generation of an adverbial coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type: the word-formation of a phrase and the fuzzification of a content word.In the process of word formation,semantics gradually become vague and further grammaticized.Under the action of grammatical position change,semantic abstraction and other factors,the generation of adverbial coordinate compounds of Noun-Noun type is completed. |
