As an important part of TCFL,separable words has always been one of the focuses in the academic circle.The overlapping pattern of clutch words is also a key and difficult point in the teaching of clutch words.Although the ontology of clutch words and the related aspects of TCFL have achieved fruitful research results,there are still many problems need to be solved in the teaching of clutch words overlapping pattern.Whether it is TCFL teachers or TCFL textbooks,the theoretical knowledge of the overlapping of clutch words need to be further expandedFirstly,this paper analyzes the form,syntactic function,grammatical meaning and pragmatic environment of clutch words.Then it discusses several types of errors of separable words,the errors including: the misuse of the form of overlap,the lack of overlap and the situation of several errors that should not be overlapped.The paper analyzes the main causes of the errors from the perspectives of teachers and students.At last,some suggestions are put forward from three aspects:teachers,textbooks and students.It is hoped that this paper can play a helpful role in teaching Chinese as a second language.
