Separable words is a hot point in Chinese research and teaching.Since the last century in 40 s,people have unremitting exploration on nature,functions and applications of the separable words.Learn and master separable words,is an important content for students to learn Chinese.Therefore,this paper hopes to take all separable words in Modern Chinese Dictionary(Sixth Edition)in analysis,find out the general rules of separable words in semantic and pragmatic,then take investigation on separable words which students need to grasp on the HSK vocabulary grammar syllabus,analysis of the causes of errors,and put forward the corresponding countermeasures.First of all,according to the literature to understand the situation of separable words study in the modern Chinese,including two aspects of separable words,ontology research and foreign language teaching research.Secondly,on the ontology research,the “V+N” separable words in the Modern Chinese Dictionary(Sixth Edition)can be divided into three parts,that is verbs,adjectives and adverbs.Then from these three parts we go on further classifications,so as to find out the three kinds of relationships between the meaning of morpheme and word,namely direct meaning,word meaning and morpheme meaning lack of indirect representation.And then analysis the usage characteristics of separable words from three aspects,when separable words "Separate",when separable words "Combine",and when separable words with object.Finally,on foreign language teaching research,to find out the teaching materials and the HSK vocabulary grammar syllabus have some problems,for example,annotation paraphrase is unknown,the meaning of separable words is unknown,unreasonable teaching arrangements and other issues,as well as students learning Chinese in the process of negative transfer of mother tongue,make a concrete analysis of the generalization problem,and puts forward some corresponding measures.
