| English homework is not only the continuation and supplement of English classroom teaching,but also an effective means to achieve the goal of English curriculum.Therefore,teachers should pay attention to the design of homework.Through the investigation of homework,it was found that there were still many problems in the actual English homework,such as teachers’ lack of operational ideas for homework design which has led to the same homework for all the students at the different levels.In order to solve the problems found in homework design,this study bases on Bloom’s Educational Goal Taxonomy(Revised Edition)and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences,and researches into the layered design of English homework for senior students in primary schools,with a purpose of studying whether the layered design of English homework has a positive role in improving students’ English scores and improving students’ interest and attitude towards English homework.This research has made an empirical research design,which combines qualitative and quantitative research,with the quantitative research as the major and the qualitative research as the minor.It took teaching experiment,questionnaire and interview as the research instruments,among which the teaching experiment lasted about one semester.The objects of the study,are 93 pupils in Grade 5 of a primary school in Liaocheng city,including 47 students in the experimental class and 46 students in the control class.Before the experiment,the experimental class and the control class were selected according to the students’ English tests data.At the same time,questionnaire and teacher interview were conducted to get the current situation of homework.During the experiment,on the basis of the students’ layers,the experimental class adopted the layered homework design,while in the control class traditional homework was still assigned.After the experiment,through the comparative analysis of the data in English tests between the experimental class and the control class,the questionnaire and the students’ interview,it is found that the design of English layered homework is conducive to improving the students’ English scores as well as their interest and attitude towards English homework.Based on the findings of this study,the positive and feasible suggestions are provided for future homework design. |
