| Under the influence of the global "Chinese fever",Sri Lanka and other countries in South Asia have also set off a wave of Chinese learning.Especially with the specific implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative,people are becoming more and more aware of the importance of Chinese language teaching in South Asia in the increasingly close cooperation.However,the teaching of Chinese in the region was hampered by a shortage of teachers.In order to alleviate this contradiction,expand cultural exchanges between China and South Asian countries,and promote the localization of Chinese teachers in South Asian countries,the Confucius Institute Headquarters established the "Confucius Institute Scholarship South Asian National Chinese Teacher Class" project in 2015 to support South Asian students to accept Chinese universities Degree education.After graduation,these students will return to their country to teach Chinese.During an internship at the International Chinese Language and Culture College of Chongqing Normal University,the author initially learned about the learning situation of students in South Asian Teacher Class in Sri Lanka through classroom observation and classroom teaching practices.To further understand the specific conditions of these students,the author used questionnaire surveys and interviews,combined with the subject of the survey,set up five aspects of the basic language knowledge and skills,culture and communication,second language acquisition and learning strategies,teaching methods and teacher comprehensive quality of students in South Asian Teacher Class in Sri Lanka.Conducted a special survey on the learning effect.Through relevant analysis,it is found that during the study of local Chinese teachers in Sri Lanka,the second language acquisition and learning strategies and the comprehensive quality of teachers are better,but there are some problems in basic Chinese knowledge and skills,culture and communication.With a solid grasp,the understanding of Chinese culture is superficial,limited to the classroom and other issues,and combined with the characteristics of students in South Asian Teacher Class in Sri Lanka,from theperspective of the trainer and the trainee,effective suggestions are put forward.Through the investigation of learning effect,this paper helps learners to understand the problems existing in learning,and improves the learning method while also reflecting the advantages and disadvantages of the Confucius Institute Scholarship Programs such as "South Asian Teacher Class" in the implementation process.The scientific Sri Lanka native Chinese teacher training system in China has certain reference significance.There are many aspects of the education of local Chinese teachers’ qualifications that are worth discussing,and more scholars are expected to study it from different angles. |
