| British landscape painting originated at the end of the 17 th century.After hard exploration in the 18 th century,it ushered in the prosperous period of the 19 th century.Constable and Turner,as two painters of the same period,have a pivotal position in the field of British landscape painting.They not only made British landscapes gradually break away from the traditional routines of topography and idealistic classicism landscapes,and thus moved to a new path,but also had a profound impact on the Barbizon School and Impressionism.this paper compares the landscape paintings of Constable and Turner as objects,and compares their similarities and differences in painting art,and explore the practical significance of their landscape paintings to the present.The paper is divided into five chapters.The introduction of the first chapter explains the reason for choosing the topic,the significance of the research,and the domestic and foreign literature related to this paper.innovations of this paper,research methods.The second chapter mainly expounds the life of Constable and Turner and the reasons for their respective painting styles.The third chapter mainly expounds and analyzes the similatities between the painting arts of Constable and Turner’s choice of the subject of landscape painting,the humanitarian spirit embodied in the works,the embodiment of the relationship between man and nature,learning from nature,good at depicting the delicate relationship between light and air,Inheritance and innovation traditional painting.The fourth chapter mainly explains and analyzes the differences between their painting arts from the painting content,composition form,light and color,and stroke performance of Constance and Turner,so as to the summarize their Respective painting characteristics and the reasons for the differences.Constable’s works not only blend the elegance of classicism,but also contain the realism of realism.Compared to gorgeous skills and dramatic themes,he pays more attention to the actual situation and details of rural life.Therefore,his works have Rustic,fresh,authentic and tranquil artistic features.Turner did not fully and respectfully imitate the real natural landscape.He was more focused on the expression of inner emotions.His pictures were always full of shocking and dramatic atmosphere.Therefore,his works are full of creativity,drama,sense of tragedy and the Awe of nature.The fifth chapter expoundsthe influence of Constable and Turner on the Barbizon School and Impressionism,and summarizes the practical significance of the landscape painting of the two..Today,the landscape paintings of Constable and Turner are still worthy of our learning and reference in many aspects,so this paper strives to be close to the paintings of the two masters to better interpret their artistic concepts and artistic spirit,The connotation of the work and the language of painting,thus bringing some inspiration and reflection to our young artists’ future landscape painting creation. |
