| In 1941,Hong Kong had launch a new art movement,which was forgotten by historical accounts.The group of artists based on the comics and a small number of woodcutters have used the literary supplement "New Fine Arts" of the Hong Kong China business Evening Daily’’(1946renamed China business Daily)as an art propaganda position,publishing a lot of art criticism and art Works to promote the development of the New Art Movement,and to launch art activities propaganda in the Anti-Japanese War in Hong Kong.Prior to this,the Exhibition of Modern Chinese Cartoon was held in Hong Kong in 1939,which was an important beginning and opportunity for local cartoon activities.This paper will analyze the public opinion trend of the New Art Movement by comparing and discussing the criticism of the "New Fine Arts" with that of other media in Hong Kong at that time.In this paper,we will discuss the practical and intensive phenomenon of sketches and quick sketches published by cartoonists in the "New Fine Arts",and combine with the fine arts activities such as the sketch study class and the sketch training class held by the Hong Kong Comic Association at that time,and we will discuss the historical motive and its movement context of the cartoonists,which is characterized by exaggeration and satire.This paper notes that as a public opinion platform for artists in Hong Kong,"New Fine Arts" at this time tends to a new ideological orthodoxy,but also fully inclusive of the diversity of forms of the complex pattern.This article attempts through "New Fine Arts" this public opinion platform,observing and analyzing the New Art Movement in Hong Kong during the anti-japanese war,as a non-governmental organization active outside the official systems of Chongqing and Yan ’An,the group of cartoon circles took the social reality and artistic reality of the anti-japanese war as the foothold,actively explore the social intervention function of art;It can be said that this is a collective action that fully reflects and re-plans the practice of modern Chinese art with the cartoonists as the main body before the Yan’An Literature and Art Symposium in 1942. |
