Hong Kong, one of the "Newly Industrial Economics", enjoys the fame as the "Pearl of East". At one time the Hong Kong film industry was the world's third largest behind India and the United States. Moreover, it was hailed as the "Eastern Hollywood". For television, in the early 1980s, TV series made in Hong Kong emerged into the Mainland and spread out promptly. They captured numerous audience and brought the city almost to a standstill, the magnificent scene of which remains fresh in the minds of the Chinese people even today. As a teenager grown up in the 1980's, I have an unforgettable memory of Hong Kong film and television. Therefore, I have been keeping a close watch on it all the way. Having consulted many books and resources about it,Ⅰdiscover that the talents on the stage or behind it, fostered by the Hong Kong TV station, have bred the Hong Kong film industry in terms of man-power, art and even technique. And the golden period for the industry was between 1986 and 1992, which was inextricably related to the influence and impetus of television industry in the 1970's. Looking back over the outset of TV station's establishment, we can find assimilating a good deal of talents on the stage or behind it has greatly accelerated the development of television.During this process, countless ties and interactions link Hong Kong filmmaker with television maker closely. This distinctive feature can scarcely be seen in the Mainland, Taiwan, the Occident, Japan or South Korea, etc. And in this field, no overall research has once been done in these areas, as well as the Hong Kong itself.Based on the analysis above, my essay will explore the amalgamation, interaction and interrelationship between Hong Kong filmmaker and television maker, mainly from perspectives of talent mechanism, industrial model, creative idea, cultural ecology, etc. Two masterstrokes of my essay are the training course of Hong Kong radio actors and the new wave of Hong Kong film. Moreover, it will be based on "human", and I strive for an all-round and profound exploration into this field, so as to provide some appreciable references for the Mainland filmmakers and television makers.
