Abstract/Summary:
In the 20th century, with the abandonment of the feudal culture and the acceptance of western art education, the form of Chinese art education began to reform. In this process of reform and innovation, art educators gradually realized the power of Chinese painting,so their eyes shifted from imitating western art forms to Chinese painting education again. They used the Western art education ideas they absorbed abroad to innovate the traditional Chinese painting education which lasted for thousands of years but had not changed. It can be said that this period was the golden age for the development of fine arts education in Chinese schools, with various kinds of fine arts schools growing increasingly, including the Chinese painting education in the national fine arts school, which was integrated with the government’s actions. The system became more and more complete, and its influence has been continued to this day. This paper takes the education of Chinese painting in National Fine Arts Schools from the 1930s to the 1940s as the research object. In terms of research methods, literature analysis method, case study method, system theory method and statistical research method are mainly adopted to study the educational purpose, teaching system and teaching methods of Chinese painting in National Fine Arts Schools.Based on the educational evolution process of "contact-conflict-response",this paper expounds the development law of Chinese painting education in national fine arts schools during this period, and probes into the development path of Chinese painting education in national fine arts schools from its initial stage to maturity. The purpose of taking history as a mirror is to seek the right development direction.Although the environment and conditions of today’s colleges and universities are far different from those of the 1930s and 1940s,there are still similarities in the challenges faced by the education of Chinese painting. Therefore, when analyzing the problems of Chinese painting education in national fine arts schools during this period,we should not only summarize the achievements of predecessors, but also realize a series of problems caused by neglecting traditional Chinese painting education while paying too much attention to reform in the process of innovation. In view of this, this paper, based on the objective facts of the development of Chinese painting education in national fine arts schools in the 1930s and 1940s,analyzes the relationship between it and modern Chinese painting education in colleges and universities,so as to provide historical experience for reference for the development of Chinese painting education in the future.
