The Collation And Research Of Shanxi Lingqiu Stone

Stone carving literature is a kind of special literature which records knowledge or events by carving with stone as its carrier,It really reflects the historical features of an area,It is a precious material for studying and inheriting history and culture.It can be used to supplement and research historical materials by combining stone carving documents with handed down documents.Two books called“Sanjin Stone Carvings,the book of Lingqiu County,Datong City”and “The Sequel of Sanjin Stone Carvings,the book of Lingqiu County,Datong City”(Their abbreviation are Lingqiu County roll and the sequel of Lingqiu County roll)record many stones before the Republic of China.Various books also record various kinds of Lingqiu stone.There are many stone carvings are discovered through fieldwork,but they are not included in the book.This paper will take these stone carvings as the research object,after sorting and classifying these stone.It is found that Lingqiu stone carvings are rich in content and large in number,involving a wide range of dynasties,mostly concentrated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The number of religious and local family stone carvings are largest.An event that the southern tour of emperor Wencheng in the Northern Wei Dynasty is recorded in a stone,and tablet of the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty,the monument records the inspection of the border.These stones have high research value.This paper will combine literature,folklore,history,archaeology and other disciplines and scholars’ research results on stone carvings,through the field survey method,literature analysis,the combination of unearthed documents and handed down documents and other methods,the study of lingqiu county stone carvings in the form of thematic analysis.This article is mainly divided into six parts,namely,the general situation of lingqiu county stone carving,the literature research of religious belief stone carving,the literature research of family type stone carving,the literature research of military type stone carving,the stone carving works collection and supplement,as well as the dialectic and addendum to the stone inscriptions included in the Lingqiu County roll and Lingqiu County roll sequel.Through the detailed analysis and research of lingqiu stone carvings,it is expected to provide valuable research materials for the study of lingqiu’s historical culture and folk culture.
