Feminism In Yoshimoto Banana’s Works From The Perspective Of Postmodernism

Postmodernism entered Japan in 1980,and then took root and localized in Japan.Feminism follows postmodernism closely into the field of literature and redeems people’s subjective spirit from the perspectives of politics,economy,culture,individual,situation and sex.At this time,although Japan has made great progress in gender equality,women are still under gender control to a great extent,and women are eager to eliminate gender threats and gender bias.How feminism develops and moves in Japan has become an important issue in Japanese society during this period.In view of this situation,Japanese postmodern writers have launched a discussion on feminism.In their works,they often use postmodern expression techniques to explain women’s problems,so as to awaken people to face up to the differences between men and women,and then eliminate discrimination against women,thus freeing them from the patriarchal mode of being treated as men.Yoshimoto Banana,a well-known Japanese postmodern novelist,is deeply influenced by postmodernism and feminism,and has unique insights on the road of seeking the development of feminism.Based on postmodernism and feminism,this paper interprets Yoshimoto Banana’s works from the perspective of postmodernism,focusing on analyzing the postmodern techniques and unique postmodern topics used in his works,exploring the impact of his works on gender dichotomy and gender imbalance in the traditional sense,and rejecting the traditional dual physiological gender and gender,and then exploring the feminist trend that Yoshimoto Banana should clarify;Classify and compare the female images in her works,analyze the changes of women influenced by feminist thoughts,and find the way to the rise of new women in the literary world of Yoshimoto Banana;At the same time,taking women’s redemption as the starting point,this paper analyzes the challenges of postmodernism to the basic rules and customs of Japanese society,and discusses the ways and means of feminist reconstruction of women’s right to speak from the perspective of postmodernism.Yoshimoto Banana’s works subvert the gender/language categories of "women" and "men".It is of great significance for the analysis of feminism and the open,pluralistic and differential development of feminism in the future to grasp feminism as a whole from the post-modern perspective.
