With the deepening of opening-up and reform and globalization,a large number of excellent foreign children’s literature works have been introduced into China. As the carrier of culture, these excellent children’s literature works not only enrich children’s cultural life, but also broaden their horizons.Children are the future of our country, and children’s education is very important. Therefore, the quality of the translation of these literary works is very important. This paper selected The Book of Boy which won Newbery Silver Award in 2019.The author used a lot of dialogue and inner monologue to vividly depict the scenes of breathtaking adventures, which highlights the inner purity of the boy.Reading the novel helps children learn the spirits of adventure and kindness. The target readers of this novel are children around the age of eleven.Due to the limited cognitive degree and acceptance ability of children, the translator must put children in the central position in the translation process.Aesthetics of Reception Theory emphasizes reader-centered position, which coincidentally matches the requirement of children readers in the translation of children’s literature and is feasible. It is the most difficult part in this translation practice to meet the expectations of children readers. In order to restore the vitality and interest of the original text and achieve the integration of the vision between children readers and the text, the translator mainly made it closer to children readers from lexical and syntactic levels. At lexical level, the translator tried to make the translation meet the aesthetic needs of children readers from onomatopoeia, reduplications and the use of idioms or four-word expressions. At syntactic level, the translator used four translation strategies for long and difficult sentences, which are appropriately adjustment of words order, use of parallelism sentences, addition of interjections and completion of meaning to make sentences conform to the reading habits of young readers, facilitate them to get familiar with the characteristics of characters and understand the content of the article.Based on the above translation strategies, the translator strove to achieve the integration of children readers’ vision with the target text, stimulated their emotional experience and developed their vision of expectation.Through this practice, the translator had deepened his understanding of Aesthetics of Reception Theory, obtained some enlightenment in the field of children’s literature translation, which could be used for references by researchers in the future and also lay a foundation for further study.
