A Study On Yang Yunru’s Exegetical Exegetics In Shang Shu He Gu

Hunan scholar Yang Yunru,under the supervision of Wang Guowei,benefited from the guidance of his teacher and completed the four-volume Shang Shu He Gu.Li Xueqin praised this book as "one of the most important achievements in the study of Shang Shu in the 20th century".The high evaluation of Shang Shu He Gu is closely related to the new fashion and academic atmosphere of Shang Shu research in the early Republic of China.However,there is very little research on this in the current academic circles,and there is a lack of systematic research on it from the perspective of exegesis.Therefore,the four-volume Shang Shu He Gu edited by Huang Huaixin was selected as the research object to study the value of Shang Shu He Gu from the microscopic perspective.This paper is mainly divided into the following five parts:The introduction mainly introduces the basic situation of Yang Yunru and Shang Shu He Gu,explains the origin and significance of writing this article,and summarizes the research status of Shang Shu He Gu and the research methods adopted in this thesis.The first chapter explains the exegetical content.This chapter is the key content of the thesis,which will be divided into four sub-sections.The first section is to distinguish characters,analyze the phenomenon of using characters in Shang Shu from three aspects:indicating the normal characters,indicating the variant characters,and indicating the ancient and modern characters.The second section interprets words,captures the special vocabulary in Shang Shu,and focuses on the archaic words,tautology and conjunctions in Shang Shu He Gu.The third section discusses the collation content in Shang Shu He Gu in detail from the proofreading essay,the supplementary essay,and the deciding ruling essay.From the perspective of grammar,the fourth section discusses the special grammatical phenomena of word order,provincial prose,and three-character linkage.The second chapter summarizes the exegetical methods.In addition to the form and sound training methods generally adopted in exegetics,according to the specific content of Shang Shu He Gu,two methods commonly used in this book are summarized,namely,the contextual method and the dual evidence method.The dual evidence method is a new method adopted by Yang Yunru based on the characteristics of the times,and it is also the method that this chapter focuses on.The third chapter excavates exegetical characteristics.Based on the whole book,this chapter summarizes the characteristics of Shang Shu He Gu.It is divided into three sections.The first section is for quotation from others,choosing what is good and following;the second section is to carry forward the teacher’s theory,adopting new methods;the third section is for self-reliance and new theory,and the words must be supported.The fourth chapter points out the lack of exegesis.This chapter combines the latest research results to analyze Yang Yunru’s shortcomings in exegesis.
