This article focuses on the fertility writing in modern literature,and strives to explore the writer’s writing attitude hidden behind the writing.Since the Opium War in the late Qing Dynasty,Western scientific and technological knowledge has been continuously introduced into China,which not only brought huge changes to the Chinese world,but also gave the Chinese people a deeper understanding of the structure of the human body and the formation of life.The concept has also changed from this.After the May Fourth Movement,the writing about childbirth in literary works gradually increased.The different ways of describing fertility actually show the writer’s outlook on life,even life.Not only that,the writing about fertility also reflects the author’s personal attitude towards life.This article is composed of three parts: introduction,body,and conclusion.It shows different fertility attitudes from the writing of fertility in modern literary works.The introduction summarizes the changes in the concept of fertility from ancient times to the opening of the gate of the Qing Dynasty,and points out the significance of the study of fertility writing.The main body is composed of three parts.The first part discusses how in the Qing Dynasty faced with a deep national crisis,the intellectuals step by step raised the meaning of women’s reproduction to a height related to the destiny of the nation-state.It focuses on the analysis of the texts based on the works of Liang Qichao,Kang Youwei,etc.and science fiction novels in the late Qing Dynasty.At the same time,research on women’s self-division when facing the dilemma of revolution and fertility.The second part takes the women’s liberation movement vigorously advocated by intellectuals during the May Fourth Movement as a background,discusses the restriction of fertility on women,and analyzes the subtle changes in the concept of female fertility in the new era.The third part starts from the influence of traditional fertility concepts such as bad fertility habits and patriarchy described in modern literary works on female fertility,exposing women’s powerless status under the discipline of traditional fertility concepts.The concluding part made a brief summary of the fertility phenomenon discussed in the whole article,again pointed out the core point of view,and put forward corresponding opinions or suggestions on the follow-up study of fertility writing in modern literature.
