Song Yibi was one of the famous Confucians in the heyday of Neo-Confucianism in the 16 th century. He has deep attainments in Neo-Confucianism and etiquette, and his Neo-Confucianism has a great influence on later generations.Song Yibi’s Neo-Confucianism thought inherited and developed Zhuzi’s thought in China, and carried out reform and localization according to his own tradition and actual needs, which was concretized and realized in social practice.Chinese Confucianism and Korean Confucianism are connected with each other,so they need to study and practice together to establish new ideas and methods to meet the needs of historical development and the times. This paper explores Song Yibi’s Neo-Confucianism from three aspects: Li-Qi theory, the theory of mind and nature, and the theory of self-cultivation.Song Yibi took the theory of Li Qi as the starting point of Neo-Confucianism,and understood the world according to the thought of harmony between man and nature. He thinks that the world is composed of metaphysical Li and physical Qi,which is his dualism of Li and Qi.It is considered that Li and Qi are an inseparable unity, which not only preserves their own noumenon, but also complements each other, which is the so-called "one-to-two-to-one" organic relationship between Li and Qi.The theory of mind and nature is the core content of Song Yibi’s ideological system of Neo-Confucianism,and it is also the philosophical basis of moral education.Through his understanding of the basic concepts of mind-nature theory, such as mind, nature, emotion and meaning,he explained that "essence" lies in the heart, and "heart" is the subject of cognition and moral consciousness, and affirmed that people have the subjective will that can change objectivity. He divided human nature into natural nature and temperament nature, believing that natural nature is pure good without evil, while temperament nature has good and evil.Human nature in reality is the unity of natural nature and temperament, and the connotation of natural nature is moral principles such as benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom, which is the best; The nature of temperament includes both moral rationality and sensory desire in connotation. He emphasized that restoring the natural nature through the change of temperament is the value and function of moral education. In the theory of mind and nature,he also put forward the theory of "four ends, seven emotions, reason and qi" and the theory of "mutual growth and decline of heart,Tao and heart ".Song Yibi’s self-cultivation theory closely revolves around the pursuit of "straightness" thought. He took "straightness" thought as his life creed all his life and insisted on the spirit of integrity and righteousness. The core of his self-cultivation theory is "straightness" thought. He thinks that a person’s birth is the beginning of straightness, and his whole life lives with straightness, dies with straightness, and reaches the end of straightness. He put forward the method of self-cultivation and self-governance with straight thoughts.First, the straight methodology of "Nine Races and Nine Thoughts";The second is the moral cultivation method of "good and evil",that is,we often say that we are good at knowing and preventing micro-duration;The third is the crucial theory of few desires in self-cultivation,which educates people to control their desires and desires and master the degree of desires; The fourth is the self-cultivation method of self-sufficiency,which advocates being content with regular points, letting nature take its course, straightening out the mentality and being satisfied with the status quo. These methods of self-cultivation are of practical significance for solving the materialism in the real society. His theory of self-cultivation is the study of practice, not the discussion of moral theory.Song Yibi’s Neo-Confucianism inherited and developed the basic spirit of ancient Chinese Neo-Confucianism,at the same time,we pay more attention to the reality and practicality of moral philosophy, therefore,we further explore the philosophical elements of contemporary significance in his Neo-Confucianism thought and re-understand them from a contemporary perspective, which is of certain significance to moral cultivation, moral character education, the construction of a moral theory system that conforms to the development of contemporary society, and the development of East Asian philosophy.
