| Aiming at the phenomenon of teaching without evaluation,evaluation of teaching but not learning,and evaluation inconsistent with teaching,this study,according to the requirements of national curriculum standards,attempts to design and implement the integration of teaching,learning and evaluation in junior middle school English reading classroom teaching.There are four research questions:(1)How can the teaching-learning-evaluating integration be designed and implemented in the classroom teaching of reading for junior high school students’ language ability?(2)How can the teaching-learning-evaluating integration be designed and implemented in the classroom teaching of reading for junior high school students’ cultural awareness?(3)How can the teaching-learning-evaluating integration be designed and implemented in the classroom teaching of reading for junior high school students’ thinking quality?(4)How can the teaching-learning-evaluating integration be designed and implemented in the classroom teaching of reading for junior high school students’ learning ability?Under the guidance of effective teaching,reverse instructional design,formative evaluation and other theories,this study constructs a junior middle school English reading classroom teaching model of teaching-learning-evaluating integration from the four aspects of English discipline key competences,and continuously improves it in my own teaching practice.The research process is as follows: In the first step,the relevant core concepts are defined and the theoretical basis for the teaching design of teaching-learning-evaluating integration based on the core discipline accomplishment is clarified.The second step is to investigate the students’ core qualities and the status quo of classroom teaching evaluation,so as to prepare for the teaching reform experiment.Thirdly,according to the teaching objectives of junior high school English reading proposed by the English curriculum standards,a reading teaching mode of teaching-learning-evaluating integration is constructed.The fourth step is to select two classes with similar English results to carry out a teaching reform experiment.The experimental class has carried out 8 units of teaching-learning-evaluating integration reading teaching,mainly using students’ self-evaluation,group evaluation,teacher evaluation,reading portfolio and other evaluation methods to mobilize the enthusiasm of students.However,the control class still adopts the traditional reading teaching,focusing on reading comprehension,and there is no evaluation activity in class.After three months of teaching reform experiment,the main findings and conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)There is no significant difference in English test scores between the experimental class and the control class in mid-term examination,but the average score of the experimental class is slightly higher than that of the control class;In the final exam,there was a significant difference in English test scores between the two classes,and the average score of the experimental class was much higher than that of the control class.This shows that the integration of teaching evaluation in reading classroom teaching has a certain degree of influence on students’ language ability as time goes by.(2)The cultural awareness of the students in the experimental class is significantly enhanced in reading,and the students can identify and understand some significant cultural differences between China and the West,such as customs,habits,behaviors,etc.(3)The thinking quality of the experimental class students has been improved to a certain extent.They can effectively extract relevant information and accurately grasp the author’s views and attitudes.(4)Students in the experimental class have improved their learning ability to a certain extent.They can use common reading strategies to improve their comprehension ability and have a high enthusiasm for reading.The research shows that the teaching-learning-evaluating integration based on core competencies is an effective teaching method,which can make students better develop in language ability,cultural awareness,learning ability,thinking quality and other aspects.This kind of reading teaching mode is of not only brand-new theoretical significance,but also certain practical value. |
