An E-C Translation Practice Report On Economic News

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has been rapidly developed and China’s comprehensive national strength has been significantly improved.Now,China has become the second largest economy in the world.In this background,people are eager to know the economic information of various countries timely,but not all Chinese readers can read English economic news.They have to understand the economic situation of foreign countries through translation,so the demand for economic news translation is higher and higher.The translation variation theory proposed by Professor Huang Zhonglian provides a theoretical guidance for translation practice.The theory applies the flexible means of addition,deletion,edition,paraphrase,combination,condensation and adaptation to translation to meet the special needs of special readers.Therefore,this translation practice report takes the translation variation theory as the guidance,analyzing the importance of translation variation theory in translating economic English news with specific examples that were done by the author during her internship in China Daily.The paper includes five parts.The first chapter is about the background,features of economic news,research objective and the thesis structure.The second chapter gives a brief introduction to the task and translation process.The third chapter is the theory part,functioning as the introduction of the translation variation theory for the further analysis.The fourth chapter gives examples to illustrate how the author uses methods of translation variation theory to carry out translation practice.The last chapter is the conclusion.
