Since "the Belt and Road" initiative being put forward,China’s foreign aid training programs have been increasing gradually.Among these programs,the beekeeping training project carried out by Hunan Agricultural Group Co.,Ltd.is distinguished,in which the author fortunately participated in 2019 as an interpreter and met several challenges during the interpreting practice,such as note-taking problems in training-class interpretation.Taking the process of consecutive interpreting practice in beekeeping training classes as the research object,this report mainly uses the method of case analysis to illustrate his note-taking mistakes from three aspects:incomplete notes,illogical notes and inefficient notes.Then causes of these note-taking mistakes have been found,including incomplete source language information,the interpreter’s insufficient listening ability,his lack of systematic note-taking symbols training,negative processing of source language information,and his failure in distinguishing the primary and secondary information.Based on the above discussion on the causes,combined with Gile’s Effort Model and the author’s reflection,this report puts forward targeted strategies to improve note-taking ability:improving listening comprehension ability,strengthening distraction exercises,standardizing note-taking format,screening out secondary information and reducing the number of notes,and expanding prefabricated chunks.
